Do you think each year is a bit short.?
I think every 5 would be better :mail:

I found your flying post exhilarating Drone in its logic and honesty. Did my later non iambic post change your mind ?

I would kill off The Lifetime Achievement Award and leave it for the two deserving incumbents Daylight and Cormack15 to enjoy in perpuety. I think David Cormack only scraped in on this one as he is certainly not at the end of his career either posting or administrating, and that is why it is a difficult fit.

Tank you have a lot to learn in the honesty stakes from the now revered BH. Your loathing of him is as hard to fathom as Ricky Lake’s loathing of you. Very honest of BH to declare his hand. I would suggest in all future polls people selected do roughly the same and vote for themselves. Suspend their vote until the last day and on that last day either vote for themselves if they are down the list :mail: or vote for another if they sit in the top three if they so desire. That seems to make sense.

If this creaking lifetime achievement award is to take place I would leave out Billion and stop the clock Jim. Daylight was the only realistic exception for a posthumous award. I don’t think the dead and hopefully at peace care a monkey’s about awards. They would far prefer to be given a good strong cup of tea made with full milk to sip through with a heavenly baked piece of sourdough to munch.

An award every five years might be countenanced and this might be named a Special Merit Award. This might sit better with the departed so in this case I would allow the dead to collect posthumously.

    My thoughts – you decide.

I am wearing the wrong glasses little wonder I needed five edits. The edit button or what I call the reverse splash button I have a love hate with. People should stick by their original words – come what may.

Special Achievement of Merit Award a SAMA or you could more reverently call it THE TRUFFLE AWARD (Special Achievement of Merit Award ) The dead and dearly departed will be most welcomed

Only one name springs to mind and that would be Daylight – after all, this was his forum.

I only met him once – at Towcester races, in 2004, I think.

He was such a nice young chap.

    Daylight hasn’t been forgotten :-)

Never met him myself but think I’ve still got the letter he sent with login details when I first joined!

Veterans ? The vast majority are teenagers and I myself have not received the key to the door yet, being a sprightly 20 year old.

My esteemed Cormack, on the subject of scraping through, but more concerning the big one rather than lifetime award we used to list second place for those nearly posters some who were pipped and others valiantly struggling. I do suggest such is resumed and corrected for the big one. Well done Nathan (you were a valiant second when I last looked)

    The not full list… :mail:

I think I may have corrected the possibly ‘offensive’ word on the possibly reported post.

It’s true – I think I reported myself the other day.

A rare moment of self awareness, perhaps.

Thanks for the conjoined input. I think it may have been gamble – I have ignored him for over s year and he can be spiteful.

(Gamble) the polls are no longer part of the old threads so impossible to go back and include the runners up as I wouldn’t know the results.

Well a lot of things were lost in the war; artefacts, rare art, gold and jewels and lists – the fact that grasshopper was possibly an old second most probably wont get him rubbing his legs into shreds.
