Week 14 Update
What looked like it was going to be a good weekend of racing was
well and truly scuppered by the cancellations at Newbury and Warwick.
Fortunately Naas went ahead and that brought the only weekend winner
for Green’s Wildcards with Elimay who franked her credentials
for the Paddy Power Mares’ Chase with a bloodless win with any amount
in hand on Saturday. Well done GW, that’s a step up from Blackwood’s
3rd place last week, and another 14.42 Points. Keep it goingFortunately the meeting at Warwick was rescheduled today and 2 stables
benefited. No Hopers notched up a very nice 15.80 Points with Two For Gold
having to grit his teeth to win by an ever decreasing neck. Nice one
NH, and it gets you 1 step further up the league ladderThe Blue Ribbon race at Warwick today was the Kingmaker Novice Chase
and it threw up what I reckon (hope) could be a challenger to Shishkin
in the Arkle. Allmankind ran out a very comfortable winner by 17L.
Whilst I’m delighted as I’ve got him E/W at 28/1 for the Arkle, but
Bachelors Hall must have been over the moon as the only stable to
have Allmankind. He’s got some engine, and is brave at his fences, but
if I’m honest I think he’s a bit too brave and he had me wincing a few
times. Nonetheless he’s an exciting horse and not only did he give the
highest points of the week to BH, 21.30 Points, he also brought about
a sizeable jump of 4 places up to 6th. BH has found a rich vein of form
of late, that’s a jump of 10 places, 16th to 6th, in the space of 2 weeks.
That’s an incredible run BH, superb stuff as highest mover and top scoring
stable this week. MagnificentFor the rest of us it was a case of “as you were” and tread water until this
coming weekend where there are several hopefulls running for TRF stables.
Ascot has a good looking meeting. The Ascot Chase has no less than 6 stables
hoping that Cyrname can eventually get some points on the board whilst
4 others are hoping that Lostintranslation can find the kind of form
that that saw him run Al Boum Photo to just over a length in 3rd in last
year’s Gold Cup. Midnight is in the fortunate position of having both in
their stable. You can take your pick, Greanateane, Champ and Scau Royal are down
for both the Pot Builder H’cap Hurdle on Saturday at Ascot and the Game
Spirit at Newbury on Sunday. Again, 6 stables are on Champ, 2 on Greanateane
and there’s me, on Sceau Royal. To be honest I don’t really fancy my chances,
but you never know.Wincanton holds one of it’s biggest NH races of the year with the Kingwell
Hurdle. Song Of Someone has been a bit of a revelation this year
and Barrow Raiders made an inspired choice at the start of the competition
picking this one out. He’s rightfully favourite, but if Goshen can
return to the kind of form when he had the Triumph Hurdle aat his mercy,
before unceremoniously unshipping Jamie Moore at the last, in a disaster to
match that of Annie Power when she came down at the last in the Mares Hurdle.
Both are painful even thinking about them.As long as the weather improves, we should see a fair bit of movement in the
League next week. Very best of luck to allHere are the scores as per the TTTF site.

Very much a case of “as you were”, with the top 11 stables all remaining
in their respective places. Most had a few points, but it was just a few
points with Fury Road, Clan Des Obeaux Song For Someone and Champ all
close but no cigar. So a variety of 1.20, 1.30 and 2.00 Points distributed
through many stables. There were a couple of stables who landed some decent Points at the expense
of the above. Waterloo Road Stables would have been relieved to see a resurgent
Goshen, who turned the clock back to his Arkle days (without the fall)
and simply ran away from the promising Song For Someone and the conqueror
of Buveur D’Air, Navajo Pass. 25 Points for Goshen and a couple for Champ make
Waterloo Road top scorer of the week with 27 Points and the biggest jump up the
league from 18th to 14th. He’s bang in the Champion Hurdle picture now, vying
for favouritism having been available at 25/1 a week or so back. You’ve got a
cracker there Waterloo, and fortunately you’re the only one, very well doneAnother stable that was on his own with a decent winner, netting 25 Points
with Sceau Royal. Who could it be, yes none other than moi I’m
basking in it as I don’t get the chance too often. Well done me
Not that I think he’s liable to beat an on song Chacun Pour Soi, but I’m
surprised to see Bet365 still going 25/1 for the Champion Chase.A couple of final mentions, 10 To Follow had the very decent Chantry House
who strolled home at Wetherby on Wednesday. Much the same story as with
Sceau Royal, in that I don’t see him troubling Envoi Allen in the Marsh
Novice Chase at the Festival, but again I think that 50/1 is plenty big
enough for a horse that I’ve always thought could land a big one. I might
have a few quid on E/W myself. Well done TTF, you’ve got a nice one thereLastly, while Green’s Wildcards are still proping up the league, I think they
were very unlucky at Sandown on Thursday with Pipesmoker, who to me
looked like he might just hold off the other 2 he was fighting it out with,
only to lose all momentum when he went through the final hurdle. Only 1.10
Points for 3rd place and not the maddest 50/1 place prospect for the Supreme
Novice Hurdle. Hopefully he can bag you a few more points GreenThere’s not a lot going on this weekend as far as the league is concerened. The
Eider on Saturday is always a race I’m keen on, and Crosspark is just the type
to take this, but it won’t be easy with top weight. No league horses feature in
it but a couple are in the Close Brothers handicap Chase at Kempton, Al Dancer
has the hopes of Bourne Losers on him and I’m ever hopeful that I might get some
points yet from Slate House.Sunday sees a popular horse in the stables, McFabulous, hopefully follow
up his good win in the Relkeel last month with another in the Stella Artois
National Spirit Hurdle. If all goes well it’s full speed ahead to the Stayers
Hurdle at the Festival. He’s my star horse in VTC’s TTF, so I could do with a
good result here. That’s it for this week then, I think the next couple of weeks will be quiet
stable wise as everything is getting wrapped in cotton wool for the Festival. Here are the scores as per the TTTF web site.

March 1, 2021 at 14:38 #1526148Week 16 Update
Treading water is the order of the day this week with only 2 moves
in the league and only 5 stables landing any points. It’s been a case
of pass the parcel at the top recently, and this week it was passed back
to Amberwood Ramblers who regained the top spot from FF91. No winners, but
2 2nds for Amberwood, the disappointing McFabulous at Fontwell on Sunday,
who looked booked from 2nd a long way out and the very unlucky Pic D’orhy
who was collared late on at Taunton on Tuesday. So the highest score of the
week, 3.20 points, and the only upward movement in the league to regain the
top spot. Well done Amberwood, this league is so tight at the top that a few
points counts for a lotThe only other scorers this week were Bourne Losers, Off The Bridle, Dark Angels
and Neil’s Horses For Courses who all shared the 1.10 Points for McFabulous. After
that display I’d have doubts about him heading to the Stayers Hurdle now. Hopefully
he might be back in form for Aintree. The week ahead looks the least riveting that we’ve had. I don’t think any stable
horses are running this week. It’s to be expected I suppose with Cheltenham just
a couple of weeks away. Here are the league scores as per the TTTF website

40.94March 3, 2021 at 15:09 #1526923A new competiton for the Cheltenham Festival is now available on the Tote web site.
Like the season long Ten To Follow the rules seem to be much the same.
Thinking caps on if I still cannot find that crystal ball.
All the best
JohnMarch 6, 2021 at 00:51 #1527406I like the Telegraph one that they do for the Cheltenham Festival. Hopefully there is one for this year.

March 6, 2021 at 02:02 #1527453Sorry I missed your post John, I’ll have a look at the tote one, there are so many
competitions around festival time that it’s hard to keep track of them allMarch 6, 2021 at 02:07 #1527454Yep the telegraph one is good Nathan, I think that’s the one where you
pick trainers and jockeys and then your horses on the day. Hope you’re
starting a TRF league for that one like last yearMarch 8, 2021 at 22:31 #1528160Week 17 Update
It’s the lull before the storm, or to to put it in a less dramatic way,
there’s not a lot happening . I said last week that I didn’t think we had
anything at all running during the week, but I completely missed one that
is turning into a bit of a star in the competition. I’m talking about none
other than Cloth Cap, who absolutely cemented himself at the top
of the market for the Grand National with a confident win in the Premier
Chase at Kelso on Satutrday. He’s one of the finds of the season and Barrow
Raiders must be licking their lips at the prospect of more to come. A very
healthy 17.40 Points, which were the only points scored in the week. It didn’t
change the position of anyone in the league, but it brought Barrow Raiders,
still in 4th, to just over 1 point behind Michael Walsh in 3rd place. You’ve
latched onto an absolute belter there BR, and you’re knocking on the door of
a podium place just before we are coming into the crucial part of the competition
with Cheltenham just over a week away. Top stable this weekTo be honest it’s hard to whip up too much much interest in the cards this
week, with the exception of one highlight, the Imperial Cup at Sandown.
There’s the prospect of a £50,000 bonus if any can win both this and a
race at the Festival. Natural History could be the proverbial handicap
snip, but has got no chance at all of getting into the County Hurdle.
Now here is the good news, nobody in the league has got any runners this
week (that’s not the good news) with the exception of Green’s Wildcards.
The even better news is that they have Marie’s Rock in the Imperial Cup
who has a very decent shout at generally 12/1. If all goes well she could
have a quick turn around and Nicky Henderson may well have had this as a plan
for some time, she’s a general 20/1 shot for the County at the moment. But the good news doesn’t end there, oh no, just when it couldn’t get any
better for Green’s Wildcards, they have a 2nd string to their bow with
Lamanver Pippin who appears at Sandown just over an
hour later. So this Saturday in now officially The Green’s Wildcards Extravaganza . I’d be delighted Green’s, if you could land
the double with those 2, and start to make some inroads to pushing up the
league. The very best of luckThat’s pretty much it other than to remind everyone that the transfer window
is open between the 10th and 15th of March . Choose wiselyHere are the weekly scores as per the TTTF website.

40.94March 12, 2021 at 15:29 #1529166Thankfully I deferred making my transfers till the last minute … I was going to put Energuneme into most of my entries. Sadly he’s out due to lameness, which will take a bit of the shine off the Arkle.
March 12, 2021 at 15:44 #1529168Such a shame he’s out for the festival Inthestream, he’s such a talented
horse. I feel for the many who would have been sitting on decent early
odds. It’s harsh but swings and roundabouts in the betting market and
Shishkin has hardened into 1/2. I’ve got Allmankind e/w at 28/1 with
Paddy power, he’s into 9/2. It’s a wise move to wait until nearer the
end of the transfer window, good luck with your new recruitsMarch 15, 2021 at 12:33 #1529614Has anyone managed to enter a stable in the Cheltenham mini game, or even make any transfers? I have been going round in circles on their useless website and even when I click “save”, when I move onto the next stage it’s all disappeared
March 15, 2021 at 12:45 #1529616Hello to everyone
In reply to Tonge
Yes I have 1 Free Stable and 2 Paid Stables in the Cheltenham Mini Competition entered,
but getting them entered was not easy and I would say enter each list one at a time.
I use a laptop so have no idea about other ways (ie mobile telephone), but once entered
making changes was much easier to complete.Good Luck to everyone this week.
Thanks
March 15, 2021 at 13:15 #1529620Last day to use the Transfer Window
Get your skates on if you haven’t already got your transfers done
and check the non runners before you select as there’s a few big
guns out. That includes Altior who was withdrawn today (was that
a surprise )To be honest Tonge there’s so much going on at the moment it went
right out of my head, but I’ll have a look at them just now and see
what I thinkMarch 15, 2021 at 15:04 #1529636Have you managed you transfers yet Tonge, if not I’ll help as much as I can
and there’s always the help section where you can chat and I’m sure they
would either walk you through it or maybe make the changes you want. But
I have to agree with you, it’s one of the most punter unfriendly site I’ve
encountered. Best of luck -
