The most amazing thing is both commentator and presenter on RUK said "he tried to pull himself up".
Seriously only in racing would you see such cases of complete non-sense.
May 31, 2010 at 17:10 #297799I watched Fallon ride a 2yo winner at Goodwood today and it emphasises the fine line between hero and villain. He had everything around him beaten so he decides not ride through the line. Meanwhile a horse he wouldn’t have seen is really finishing and fortunately he hangs on by a neck. Inside of praising him commentators should be highlighting his stupidity.

I think Tom has ridden some great races since he resumed, Glenn, although sadly I haven’t been backing them. The Kiddykid for example, although he didn’t get any of the praise that a Spencer or a Moore might have been given for it.
If he’s been missing breaks, which I haven’t noticed, I can assure you it will not have been intentional (if that was your suspicion) unless the horse’s running style required it. He is one of the straightest you’ll find.We were checking with our trainer who he would pick to ride when ‘the money is down’ ie a jockey that you are 100% sure is on your side and he said the first name on his list would be Tom McLaughlin.
Without being rude perhaps a change of trainer for you guys so. Obviously not the best judge of jockey..
June 5, 2010 at 18:04 #298831This can happen to all jockeys from time to time. Until Fallon started riding a bit better in the last 10 days or so, he was miising the break on a regular basis also.
