I have decided to give this a go after reading the site for a fair while now, and I hope I can get some winners. I have purple patches and losing streaks. I have put aside £300 just for this thread so I will see where I am at after ten bets.
Elite Hurdle, Zubayr 4-1
£30 winNovember 5, 2016 at 14:00 #1270845Good luck Lemons
November 13, 2016 at 11:04 #1272406Thanks Vtc but sadly couldn’t start with a winner. Zubayr looks a nice horse, but he was definitely beaten when he fell.
Taking me to minus sixty pounds is £15ew on Silviniaco Conti for next weekends Betfair Chase.
November 13, 2016 at 19:48 #1272536Welcome to the forum Lemons.
That run over in Ireland showed he’s still got a lot of ability, I think the winner will be a big player in the Gold Cup
What price did you get on Silviniaco Conti….?
good luckGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 13, 2016 at 20:53 #1272544Thank you Nathan.
Sorry about that, the price would help d’oh. It’s 12-1 with Hills
November 22, 2016 at 11:38 #1273792Minus £90 now, and cannot believe Conti did not place.
£30 win on Blaklion at 12-1 with a couple of firms, for The Hennessy Gold Cup. I have already bet him at 16-1, as in big race thread, but12-1 is best today.
December 3, 2016 at 12:24 #1275510I should have waited till the day for the 5 places Blaklion, oh well.
Grand Sefton today, Valadom each way at 8-1, skybet 6 places
December 14, 2016 at 11:33 #1277129This is not going too well and I decided to give myself a break. That turned out to be a good idea as my main bet also failed to win at the weekend.
It is definitely harder to pick them out when you are putting them up on here. It is definitely added pressure.
My main bet this weekend I think will be Minella Daddy at Ascot, but with the luck I have had on this so far, I will wait until he is actually declared
December 14, 2016 at 18:05 #1277182That’s true, you can sometimes overthink things when putting selections up on here – I put one on Zarkava’s thread Three Faces West but ended up talking myself out of it and backed Coologue instead! Bit stupid!
I tend to do better in the big Saturday races – your MD is an improving horse and I’m a massive fan of Sean Bowen in 3m+ races but I think this is a hot race for him. I’ve bet on Houblon Des Obeaux but I don’t think it will be soft enough unfortunately…
Good luck.
December 14, 2016 at 18:47 #1277189100% spot on Lemons, it is a whole different ball game putting them up on here

Good luck with Minella Daddy, big fan of him, and think he has a very decent future. 25’s was far too big for him when it opened. There’s the added puzzle of him having an entry in the novice chase on Friday, but good luck if he takes in the big one
December 17, 2016 at 11:10 #1277541Thanks Joliff and VTC
£15 each way on Minella Daddy at 9-1
December 17, 2016 at 20:59 #1277669Points on the board Lemons, well done
and maybe just a bit unlucky as well.February 14, 2017 at 22:26 #1287440Belated thanks Vtc I am just relieved to get a few points back as it was a poor start.
I am going to put up Blaklion £15 each way at 14-1 for the big race on Saturday. I put it up on the race thread though is not 14-1 now. I will use this price but will happily change it as well if any posters object.February 19, 2017 at 20:43 #1288114Another step in the right direction for me yesterday but I would like a winner. I would really have liked Blaklion to be a winner for me yesterday but not to be.
I’ll do my running total after my next Saturday bet.
February 21, 2017 at 23:43 #1288405Unlucky Lemons with Blaklion, but still another decent each way for you. I know you like him a lot, we’ve all got those horses we follow. I’m on same price as you for Gold Cup (cover only for me), would you like to see him head there, or would you wait for Aintree?
Decent enough record at Cheltenham, and if he were mine, I’d take in both.
March 4, 2017 at 14:14 #1289868Doesn’t look like both Vtc after trainer update on Thursday. I have no complaints after Haydock and maybe the sensible decision to go straight to Aintree.
Talking of Aintree, my bet today will be The Last Samuri at 5-1, and it will be for the win.
March 14, 2017 at 12:24 #1291877I will definitely have one selection per day this week, and it will be Yanworth to win at 11-4
I am on him to win a lot of money antepost, well over four figures so wish me luck guys. I was not going to mention it in case I got a few accusations but I am very excited and I hope I have not put a curse on myself. He will be my biggest ever winner on the horses
