Political parties have to recognise that some of peoples fears aren’t just based on racism or homophobia. Eg as a woman I do feel scared of sharing toilets with transgender people. At the same time it has to be recognised that they are often based on racism or homophobia.
April 1, 2026 at 20:47 #1761719“We are anti-zionists because they viciously attack other countries and kill innocent women and children. We are NOT anti-Jew. There is a massive difference between the rwo.”
Not according to the rightwing media or the idiots who follow them there isn’t.
April 2, 2026 at 07:59 #1761734What is wrong with any of those people?
Admittedly, something of an exaggeration on my part to make a point and elicit a response.
Anyway, there’s nothing ‘wrong’ with those people, I just happen to disagree with them which is not the same thing. Perhaps I should christen them LWNJ akin to your frequent references to RWNJ at the other end of the political extreme, who I also disagree with.
“the boring old mainstream general public”
Doesn’t the problem therefore lie with them/you?
I want the Greens to do well in forthcoming elections. To do so, given the small c conservatism inherent in the general public, realism and pragmatism must replace idealism. After decades of numerous shunnings the Left must surely realise this, unless the view that they prefer to lose elections and just snipe from the sidelines is true.

I’m quite aware of the difference between anti-zionism and antisemitism and I too lean towards the former particularly the expansionist zionism that Netanyahu and his ghastly cabinet seem intent on.
I used the term ‘neo anti-zionism’, chosen to mean the blurring of the distinction between it and antisemitism
April 2, 2026 at 13:06 #1761749Reforms housing minister has been sacked because of crass insensitive comments about Grenfell. Their ‘vetting’ process isn’t going very well is it!
April 2, 2026 at 15:14 #1761755Their press conference this morning was, predictably, a shambles. Yet it’s apparently the Greens whose economic policies make no sense.
Yeah, right.
April 2, 2026 at 16:47 #1761759Farage has confirmed Reform UK would keep the triple lock for state pensions and will fund it with the “biggest cuts to the benefits bill ever seen in this country”.

EDIT: Before TRF clever clogs tell me that State Pensions are a benefit – YES, I F’KIN KNOW!!!!!
He’s aiming this at the sham out-of-work and sham f’kin disability/mental ‘elf scams going on.
April 2, 2026 at 17:06 #1761763The Triple Lock is completely unaffordable in the long run which every politician knows, as do you, but you’ll be receiving it soon so that’s alright then.
Reform may be aiming at the scammers, who no doubt exist, but they’ll be taking an awful lot of genuine cases down with them. It would be a catastrophe. They are completely clueless.
April 2, 2026 at 17:08 #1761764Richard – are u stalking me?

Who said I’m male? 😉
April 2, 2026 at 21:08 #1761795The irony is that those who bang on about cutting benefits often appear to be unaware that pensions are by far the biggest slice of the benefits cake.

I’m fully aware. Thought i’d just clear that up
April 13, 2026 at 19:09 #1763540Just seen their election broadcast for the locals. All about pensions and immigration. Last time I checked my local council wasn’t responsible for either of those things. Utterly ridiculous.
April 13, 2026 at 19:43 #1763542I watched it and was thinking the same thing.
Yet idiots will still vote for them. 🤷♂️
April 13, 2026 at 19:54 #1763543They all do it.
Why do u think Starmer and his troops (on every tv appearance lately) have been bigging up his foreign ‘travels’ , allegedly demonstrating his statesman-like ‘qualities’?

Foreign policy has nowt to do with local councils as well
April 13, 2026 at 19:59 #1763544And other idiots will vote for Labour.
April 13, 2026 at 20:25 #1763548They all do it.
One, that doesn’t make it right and two, they don’t. The Lib Dem one mentioned numerous things that local governments actually have jurisdiction over.
