I quite like being called ‘wench’; there’s something rather Black Adderish about it.
February 15, 2010 at 21:41 #276993thanks Max
I’m pleased to hear you got something good out of it at least.RATM
…
I was very annoyed about that but credit to them for bringing it off…
dreadful song, never heard of it but I don’t suppose ‘Cheltenham’ would have set the world alight…Anonymity is fine. If I changed my name to ‘Loretta Salino’ you’d be none the wiser unless you’ve seen ‘The Sting’ about 50 times, and what I like most about forums, especially here in the Lounge is that you can find out not only how much people
do
know but just as interestingly how much they, or I,
do not
know.
It is an opportunity to bare one’s all in public and I think you can learn something about yourself in the process if you’re prepared to post and be damned…
…as I know you always do

Though a man of even temperament and liberal credentials, I would possibly
stalk
a poster called Loretta Salino…and get myself banned LOL.
Moe, wench does have Adderish tones, but I much prefer the Georgian "strumpet" or the Pythonesque, "bint", as in "I mean, if I went around sayin’ I was empereror just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me they’d put me away!

…a stalker.. – now that would be worth looking in to see…Poised, seductive and without glamour by today’s standards, I love Salino. Short lived but beautifully woven into it and a severe shock for the novice viewer.

"Be quiet! I order you to be quiet!!" etc. etc.
"Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help! Help! I’m being repressed!"
"Bloody peasants!!!"
"Did you hear that?!?!? Oooh, what a giveaway!"
etc.
