Balder Succes is an obvious one. Course and distance winner. Improving.
Cash And Go similarly, and i think this track and trip will prove more to his liking. Cause Of Causes, Ranjaan. Lyvius.Would be very interested if Claret And Cloak was ridden by Fehilly again and with more patience.
Cotton Mill back at two miles on soft is interesting. He might have faded up the hill at Cheltenham but my opinion is that, had he not run out, he’d have finished second, so what price Simonsig in this if it were running off a mark in the high 150’s ? Cotton Mill rated 145. My concern would be O’Regans Ascot record. No winner from 23 rides in the last five years.
A puzzler
December 18, 2012 at 11:31 #423381Looks a tough one Mark.
I’ve bet
Cotton Mill
for the Champion Hurdle, so he’d have to go close in this. I hope he does, as I worry that a poor display would see him going Novice chasing. There’s obviously question marks over him after his behaviour at Cheltenham, and that was my main worry. Now I’m worried about O’Regans record at Ascot
Fingers Crossed anyway.Another I’ve bet at big odds for the CH is
Olofi
. He’s been frustrating, but thought he was very impressive last time, and honestly think there’s more to come. Not a realistic hope for CH, but a good run would see me get a free bet surely. I give him a decent chance here.
Think those 2 will be leading players, but can see
First In The Queue
attracting a lot of support. Ran really well round there last time, and looks very attractively weighted, I’d probably make him my number 1 choice, just ahead of Cotton Mill.
Of the rest,
King of Queens
looks as if he’s going the right way, don’t know if he’s coming over though, and also
First Avenue
, he was absolutely cantering when falling at Sandown last time, he looks very interesting at a price.
December 21, 2012 at 14:47 #423717Mr Henderson holds the keys to the pot here IMO and I have opted for CASH AND GO. Should love the ground and has the form in the book!
December 21, 2012 at 17:58 #423735Agree Henderson is the trainer to concentrate on but it’s Lyvius for me, nice weight in what will be a bit of a slog.
December 22, 2012 at 14:39 #423892Into Wain e/w for a bit of fun in what will probably be a slog.
Henderson/Nicholls monopoly alert as usual though.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
