The Package is officially bordering on becoming my nap of the meeting. For a price anyway.
What is it you say Ginger?

20s was a cracking price, especially after Pipey had been so open about him in his stable tour.
March 2, 2012 at 10:50 #394477Just backed Fruity O Rooney @ 33s for the Festival Handicap. Fits the trends nicely, and looks progressive.
Gone in on Hunt Ball again in the Byrne Plate.
March 2, 2012 at 11:38 #394487Backed Penny Max NRNB e/w for the festival handicap. 20’s seems a fair enough price for me.
March 2, 2012 at 12:10 #394494I do like the look of Triolo D’Arlene from the Hendo yard but not knowing whether it is PLI or Byrne Group bound!!
March 2, 2012 at 12:55 #394500I’m not sure I can bring myself to back him over a trip as short as 3m on good ground but JPM’s Arbor Supreme looks to my eye something of a plot horse.
Switched to Jonjo over the summer and since been given two outings in tin-pot hurdle races at Bangor, he’s entered for the JLT on the opening day for which he’s available at 65 on the machine and also the Kim Muir where he’s 44.
The marginally longer trip of the latter would probably suit although he’d have to carry top weight in that compressed handicap.
You’d have to go back a long way to find winning form on good ground but this time last year he finished 2nd, beaten just a length in The G2 Bobbyjo over this distance and off practically the same mark as he’ll run off at Cheltenham – albeit on heavy ground.
Maybe a leap of faith but JonJo rarely leaves the festival without a winner.

March 2, 2012 at 13:25 #394502At 4/1 in the Fred Winter surely any value has gone but for anybody that hasn’t read the King stable tour in today’s RP he’s quoted as saying he’d by "staggered" and "amazed" if Vendor didn’t turn out to be considerably better than his current mark.
He also said he wouldn’t have come off the bridle during his winning debut if he hadn’t gone through the last hurdle.

I saw this and although 4/1 is not massive, he does look absolutely chucked in and they’ve purposely held him back for this. I’ve partaken at 4s NRNB as i imagine on the day it could be a 9/4 shot and also had Kazlian of Pipes as a saver, 16s looked good and they really rate this animal. French bred, 3 runs, 130 mark, ticks all the boxes.
March 2, 2012 at 16:09 #394526Has to go close. Surely at 16s Kazlian represent a similar chance??? Pipe has a fantastic record in the race and he goes off at 130 or.
4-1 is just too short. He looks chucked in as you say but so do a lot of them. 8-1 yes but not 4-1.
March 2, 2012 at 16:20 #394528Blunkett. I agree with Fruity. Been topping up at 33s nrnb. THink he will have a great chance and will get a good look at them from the front.
Also on Tullamore Dew as he has excellent form at the festival stays 3 miles, nearly wo n last time and at 10 years old is in his 3mile prime.

Wanted to avoid the handicap hurdles because of my dreadful record in them however i couldn’t help myself.Came up with a shortlist of horses I wanted to follow and like the look of Sweet my Lord who ran well of top weight in the Boylesport staying on. 16/1 nrnb for this mullins horse with no other entries!!!!
Act of Kalanisi who’s trainer won it a few years ago and seems to have been held back since the lanzarote for this i suspect. 20/1 NRNB
Module – not as keen as the above two but hard not to be impressed with his win however i thought it was a relatively weak race he won and he may be flattered. I would have wanted a larger price but he could be decent.
First Fandango fits a lot of trends, relatively light campaign and form ties in with some nice handicappers early this season. Tim Vaughn knocking at the door.
March 2, 2012 at 17:29 #394541I’ll waste a few pounds no doubt, but one that I am keen on is Alfie Sherrin in The JLT at around 40’s
March 2, 2012 at 20:04 #394570SNAP TIE is a big one for me in the county hurdle (if he gets there this year!!) almost a 100% record 1st time out and a really handy weight to come back to considering what he has achieved in the past. i just hope he still retains some of the old ability after 3 years off the track!

Well that was really, really depressing.
March 13, 2012 at 17:25 #396279What a performance from Hunt Ball, easily the most improved horse in NH training. Delighted for connections and the trainer was bullish (to say the least)!
