I’ve been filling my boots with 7/4 about Oscar Whiskywithout Big Bucks is one of my bankers for the meeting. Thousand Star is sure to go for the Champion now Spirit Son is out, I believe Bobs Worth is doubtful and the rest couldn’t raise a gallop if the race was downhill. He should be 4/7
January 26, 2012 at 01:56 #388288I haven’t touched this race personally, although I believe Dynaste will definitely place. I’m hoping the exchanges are going haywire though, as I think he’s got to be up there, even without my money involved.
January 26, 2012 at 09:57 #388315Had a small go at 70-1. Means i have an interest at inflated odds. Hope the restrained tactics bring about improvement but whats a 5er?
Oscar is seriously class but i like the horse to have shown stamina in staying races before hand. It is a bit too short for me. Hope he goes for the world hurdle would be cruel if they change their plan. Don’t undesrstand why run at fos las when they can go the cleeve hurdle route and learn so much more. They could measure against bucks and see how he handles 3 miles? If he fails badly then back to the chammpion for the festival. it baffles me.
January 26, 2012 at 10:15 #388317Economics, Oscar Whisky running at Ffos Las would provide more of a draw for paying customers to the venue.
January 26, 2012 at 10:17 #388319Because the owner of Oscar Whisky owns Ffos Las and wants to win the Welsh Champion Hurdle while setting a course record. Pillock.
January 26, 2012 at 10:49 #388324I like to think you are not calling me a pillok

It all makes sense then.
Cleeve should be a decent event, the triumph trial will be a goodun too.
January 26, 2012 at 14:04 #388348No the owner’s a pillock because who gives a crap about the Ffos Las 2 mile course record? It was set by a handicapper in August running off 10 stone something with an OR of 133.
January 26, 2012 at 14:19 #388349glad henderson is taking on bucks with whisky this year. id put my money that it will be better suited in that than the champion hurdle. whisky will always be held by better horses in the champion.
also can’t see why they wont run quevega against bucks. may aswell have a pop. whats there to prove in the mares hurdle now? an 8y/o running 2/3 times a season if lucky is stupid.
January 26, 2012 at 15:04 #388352One could equally ask why hasn’t Big Bucks run at Punchestown against Quevega for the last 2 seasons.
Perhaps that is why some people own racehorses, some people train them and some people back them.
January 26, 2012 at 15:52 #388357in ways yes. but there is always the case of big bucks never racing outside of the uk since moving in from france.
doesn’t nobody want to stop the horse getting the record breaking 4 wins in the world hurdle? fair play to henderson and connections for aiming to do so.

Henderson has said that they dont want to find out whether he will stay, before the festival.
His number 1 target is the Welsh Champion.
So i imagine if he wins that, connections will be delighted.
He will then step up and take on Big Bucks at Cheltenham.
The thing i like about Oscar Whisky is that he has a high cruising speed and is very quick and low over his obstacles. He jumps them very quickly. Helps him to get around thats for sure.
January 26, 2012 at 18:53 #388385In addition to possibly increasing the attendance on the day, should Oscar Whiskey win the race again, it means that the course executive have a better chance of getting the status of the race upgraded for future renewals.
January 26, 2012 at 19:01 #388388Nicky said only a few weeks ago "I can’t possibly win a Champion Hurdle with him" With him having 3 horses with better chances at the time he said it he’d have to have been nuts to go back for another and possibly bigger thrashing. Spirit Son changes things slightly but not enough.
If he does stay 3 miles who knows he might even beat Big Bucks, who knows? But one things for certain is he can’t win and wont be running in the Champion so why not just toss him in blind? better than missing the WCH and trying to cram another race in that might take the edge of him.
January 26, 2012 at 19:22 #388390Agree Fist.
I personally think he has the quality to get Big Bucks at it, and even possibly get his head infront.
Others will disagree, but it does make the World Hurdle a lot more exciting with his participation.
January 29, 2012 at 09:40 #388866Just added Dynaste in the market without Big Bucks. Even if some of the potential non-stayers turn up he still has enough speed to give him every chance of finishing second. Looks to be improving as well so possibility he could step up even further next year.

This is it.
Poor management of a top racehorse.
January 30, 2012 at 00:01 #388992Can’t believe Dynaste was going at 33s before Saturday
