I know a few regulars on this site entered this quiz, but for those who thought they answered one question incorrectly ( question 19 – what weight do fillies carry in the Derby ) it appears that the Anorak got this answer wrong. Fillies carry 8st 11lbs, not 8st 9lbs as the RP stated today.
The result, which was printed in the RP today, is going to have to be amended.
January 18, 2008 at 18:44 #136244oh, I thought it was 8-9 too with 8-11 for the Leger only. Still, they might as well get 7-0 for all the likelihood of them running in it. 2 every 50 years?
January 18, 2008 at 18:50 #136248Definitely 8-11 – very easy to research if you look on the BHA’s racing admin site which Racing Post would have access to.
Under fixtures you can look at the full conditions.

I also put 8st 11lb, has this one answer made me one of the unlucky ones oo’er
I guess it wont mean anything and they will state quiz master’s ruling is final
January 18, 2008 at 20:22 #136263I was at Authorized’s Derby and got the answer 8st 11lbs from the racecard.
Whatever, I queried this matter via e-mail, and the RP has confirmed that Randall’s answer of 8st 9lbs is incorrect. They also assured me that prizes will only go to entrants offering the correct answers.
January 23, 2008 at 12:30 #137217Confirmed as 8-11 so those who are correct have been offered a full set of prizes as well as those original stated as winners.
I believe the last filly to run in the race was Cape Verdi and she carried 8-9 but the race conditions have changed since.
Full apology from the anorak in todays RP.
Maybe grays will get his job yet!!!!January 23, 2008 at 12:45 #137221GD, you are not suggesting that graysonscolumn is an anorak, surely??????
