I have no problem with a pay divide between rich and poor. What I have a problem with, under the Capitalist system, is the wealth divide between rich and poor, and how the fortunate sons of successful fathers inherit a better chance of success than those born into poverty.

If money had a use by date, this could not happen, and all children would be born onto a level playing field, a true meritocracy. The other alternative would be the disestablishment of the family unit as we know it, with all children brought up until adulthood in a true kibbutz, unaware of who their biological parents are.
