Sadly we have to scratch The Budapest Bullet, but there is another very talented animal in Amour Propre we can all look forward to, can’t see him being beat if the ground is fast. Hopefully there will be a rivalry to savour this summer if Amour Propre turns out to be very good bar Overdose he is the only sprinter I have seen in quite a while to strech and pull away like that, cant stand that smug git John Inverdale but for £250 share in a horse, he has picked up a real bargain.

I have Crimson Fern on a very-long-time-ago antepost bet for the Kings Stand at 100/1 and I’d love to see her win this.
Look Busy, Masta Plasta and Percolator also stand out.
If Percolator shows anything like the promise he did in France last year as a 2yo over this distance then he’s going to be a cracking bet receiving 10lbs from almost every horse in this race.
Declare him Mr Cole! Declare him!
May 12, 2009 at 15:44 #227110Im already on spin cycle for the kings stand and he has to be the one for me here if the ground is gd-fm. If not will look for something else. Here’s hoping for gd-fm.

I like Borderlessscot but race is way too far away to be guessing at what’s going to run.

TAX FREE is 16/1 for this on Betfair, Xmas will come early if he runs!

He’d want it firmer than it looks and even if he does get his fast ground he hasn’t a chance against Amour Propre.
With the weather forecast, I guess they would pull Amour Propre though.
May 17, 2009 at 21:50 #228314I’m a fan of Look Busy.
She has won 7/8 of her last 5F races
She has won 0/4 of her last 6F racesTrue speedster who is capable of a good run at a big price
May 17, 2009 at 22:11 #228325The whole market is drawn up as if Amor Propre wont lose. Everything else is double figures.
Thats slightly crazy if you ask me….

Well to be honest he crushed his field last time out, he would struggle more on softer as he is not built like a sprinter and his speed gets blunted, but he still puts in a game performance on it, although I’d doubt connections would run him on soft now, but if it is fast ground he will win.
In his last run I could not believe there was no confidence in the market, 7/1 was a great price for a horse which smashed two course records beforehand.
May 18, 2009 at 12:41 #228433I have just had a look at the 7 day weather forecast and the ground at Haydock is going to have soft in it, gd/sft and Tax Free will still win
He is entered in a race in Ireland this weekend which doesn"t help either!
If the ground does come up genuinely Soft then Reverence at 27 on the machine is showing signs of his old self! 2nd to Inxile is good form!
and dont forget he is a Group 1 winner!May 18, 2009 at 13:22 #228438The ground is defineately going to be on the soft side, which will blunt the 3yo"s "proper armour"s speed! This is not going to be the strongest group 2 race i have seen by far! I was thinking if
Inxile
had been entered he would have been a racing certainty, but he"s not" Tax free does not like soft ground so may not even run, i have backed him though just in case!
I have just watchedReverence
showing signs of his old spark against
Inxile at Naas and with the rain forecast, i have taken the 27 on betfair!
I am going to recite one of my old tales to you all about being TAPK!
sitting comfortably! Equitrack take your finger from out your nose! Quito
was a favourite horse of mine, he looked like a champ he travelled like a champ and he could win from 6f-1m in good company! we backed him at
66/1 for the lincoln one year and i still think he should have won it! Anyway
the Monday before the Group 1 sprint cup at Haydock i noticed he was 20/1 for the race, the forecast was for rain, i knew that would slow them
down, so we had a good bet on him, he took money all week and he went off about 9/1, Robert Winston rode him and finished with a flourish to get
beat a neck, admitted the ground suited him but if ever an old "handicapper"
deserved a group 1 it was him! Anyway the 11/4 fav held on and he is still
only 8yo nowREVERENCE
27 Get on!

I’m still struggling to get over
proper armour
– I’ve never heard anything like it.
Amour propre means ‘self respect’ or ‘awareness of oneself’ you clown (from the French, amour, meaning love).
Borderlescott looks a stand out at the moment, with ground conditions unlikely to bother him either way.

Proper armour is what he will need you Plonker! he will need it to beat
Tax Free should he run! because he will make him battle! what is French

just gone 50 on Betfair, i see my army of supporters
are backing him!!! in we go again then!May 18, 2009 at 22:07 #228526TAPK – as always with the Ante-Post markets Betfair just go the same price or marginally bigger than the bookies. 50/1 is freely available with Betfred and Bluesq. Taken some of it myself but generally it’s better to back AP with the books rather than the Betfair monkeys.

IRISH, i can assure you Betfairs prices are a lot more inflated than your
High st Bookmaker, but generally only on prices above 25/1! As far as
Reverence being 50/1! That is unreal! If the same horse that ran
the other week against Inxile turns up he will be placed at worse!
Had Inxile been declared for this he would be 9/2 2nd fav to the Armoured
thing! 50/1 will go it has to! - AuthorPosts
