Tommy you aren’t unlike myself, you know a good one when you see one,you dont interpret form literally which is crucial and around Cheltenham

    Rule the world

will beat his Gigginstown conqueror today ‘Wounded Warrior’.The question is like you say will he actually stay the trip? Mouse Morris is training him for Cheltenham but they thought he’d win today for sure as 6/4 tells you that stable money was on.Why I cant see him running in the JLT is because I really think

    Valseur Lido

is their ‘Sir des Champs’ for the race so there’s no point running ‘Rule the World’ there.Of course musical chairs is the name of the game these days and ‘Don Poli’ could go RSA and ‘Rule the world’ the 4 miler!!

    World hurdle

If for some reason last years Champion stayer doesn’t turn up for this years renewal then I reckon

    Annie Power

will target this rather than the Mares final.Bookmakers go 7/2 ‘More of That’ but 12/1 is freely available about the Mullins Mare and that is huge, personally I’d be going 4/1 the pair as I can see ‘Annie’ pushing Jonjo’s horse even harder this year.My first Ante-Post bet for this was taking 33/1 about

    Whisper

progressing to this level after victories against ‘Get me out of Here’ and ‘At Fishers Cross’,I wasn’t totally convinced about his chasing debut so a return to hurdling could still yet be on the cards.’Lieutenant Colonel’ is an RSA horse for next year imo and ‘Beat That’ hasn’t convinced me he’s a World hurdler,’Zarkandar’ will travel till something out-battles him and I just hope ‘Rock on ruby’ doesn’t run,he’d have a better chance runnin em ragged in the Champion hurdle.

    Edit, 15/01/15,

    Saphir du Rheu

gets a Cleeve hurdle entry and World hurdle entry so have taken the 34’s on the machine for the latter. This decision allows me now to commit to a selection and this fellow is it….’Big Bucks’ here we come!

Get in you beauty!! Cheltenham World hurdle here we come!

Selection,; Saphir du Rheu 34’s and 12/1 e/w

Sorry for the late reply Gord, but just on interpreting form literally. I think it could be dangerous to take the Drinmore form literally myself. Valsuer Lido looked a horse on the top of his game and everything went right for him. Copper glued him to the rail and he got a lovely run into the straight. At the other end of the spectrum everything went wrong for Apache Stronghold. He followed Real Steel out to his left the whole way round and by the time he got on an even keel in the straight Valseur had flown. Whether they go 2.5m or 3m with either of these horses at Cheltenham, I’d give Apache Stronghold a big chance of reversing the form.

Salsify at 10/1 would probably sluice in if back to his best, runs on Hennessy day at Leopardstown. Haven’t bet myself either but looking forward to seeing Salsify return. Enjoying the previews by the way :)

    Grand Annual 2m

The question here is which of JP’s have dropped enough in the weights to be competitive??
That therefore means ‘Mr Mole’ isn’t one of them.

    Eastlake

,16/1 was eyecatching the other week at Ascot but he dissapointed in this last year, his mark is fair but not exactly jumping off the page,I still feel he is a player in this as 2miles is perfect. However the horse that does jump off the page is the one I put up for this very race 2 yrs ago.

    Alderwood

20/1 may well be 11yo but when you look at his form figures he’s still running against stiffer opposition than whats likely to turn up here. His victory round here in 2013 and his County hurdle win in 2012 still read better than most.Horses for courses and this fellow ticks a lot of boxes to suggest there will be money for him on the day again.

    Selection,; Alderwood 20/1

Every year Gordon does what he does. Officially look away now if you hate ‘profits’.

Bloody hell I’m just praising you pair on Boz’z thread and now you are here in the Cauldron, the Cauldron where magic is created from years of secret recipes.Where legend is formed and Ante-Post coups written in stone will be unveiled like a Michaelangelo bronze,of course I have balls of Steel not Bronze supported in a Crystal Jock strap. Those who have witnessed the unleashing of my Sword know when I strike its only after many candles have been burned and in the gloom of this smoke filled cauldron filters burning embers of form, form so many forget…..I see a sign……
