Royal Vintage taken out last minute!
I favour Welsh Emporor even more now
September 2, 2008 at 15:35 #179028Excusez Moi seems to be coming in for some interest over the last hour or so.
Best of luck to you if youre betting on that horse. Definitely a race to watch rather than bet on for me now that Welsh Emperor is 2/1
September 2, 2008 at 17:07 #179043Reasonoverfaith – you are either now on cloud nine or pig sick. Good shout either way.
September 2, 2008 at 17:31 #179047I backed Welsh Emperor in the end at 4/1. Didn’t see the winner winning at all.
September 2, 2008 at 18:16 #179052Ya run for the hills you mofos.
at least I picked a horse who got stuffed

Go back to Arab Land and play with the traffic….British racing rules ok!!!!!!
September 2, 2008 at 18:37 #179053I suppose at this point I could tell lies and say ‘yeh, I knew it would win I didn’t lay any off’, but that would be a lie.
There’s no way the winner should have been 36-40 last night, so I backed it. However, at 8am today it was available at 60-65.
Anyway, because of the deductions for numerous non-runners my bet was settled at 20.12 or something. Furthermore, because I never back each-way I’ll often lay in-running horses I’ve backed at big prices. So I layed my stake at 4.0 in-running. So backed the winner at just over 16.
However, I should state that I also backed Beaver Patrol, and I thought that one had a far better chance of winning.
September 2, 2008 at 19:08 #179058Fair play for a great pick and your honesty. I didn’t see the winner coming with binoculars, in fact i’ll keep the honesty going and admit he was the very 1st i put a line through!
September 4, 2008 at 00:22 #179275ROF,
This is not how I work generally, the above betting is what I think the betting will be, not what I think it should be or the prices I am looking to beat.
For betting purposes my prices to beat are (for going between good-soft and soft) Betting to 100%
13/8 Royal Vintage 6/1 Beaver Patrol 15/2 Welsh Emperor 8/1 Hichens 10/1 Appalachian Trail, Sharp Nephew 18/1 Express Wish 80/1 Excusez Moi
As you can see from my prices to 100%, I thought Express Wish was value too. I took 54/1 the night before. Before some big deductions. The other two I backed were Welsh Empoeror 10/1 (unfortunately was the main bet) and Beaver Patrol 10/1. 1st, second and third. In what turned out to be a 5 horse race. Did not make much of a profit in the end. Was going to back Royal Vintage aswell at 2/1 in the morning but thought there’d be non-runners.
Hope this is not classed as aftertiming as you can see my prices to beat. So it makes sense that I’d back it at the price available 54/1 when I made it an 18/1 shot.
Hope you made more than me ROF.
Mark
