Ballyburn would be 13/8 for the the ballymore ginge? On what planet? Evs at absolute best, 4/5 more likely
Such a poor supreme that running MP & tullyhill, one of them will win and ballyburn will walk the ballymore
Dont think theyll be much bingo going on, id say what ive just said its nailed on where theyll go
Jeriko running will make no difference to MP, jeriko would need to start now
February 19, 2024 at 22:19 #1681753Depends ham,
If Ballyburn goes for the Bingham and scares some of the other better Bingham horses away… then yes it could be evens or odds-on. If the better Bingham runners stand their ground he could be around 13/8.Slade Steel’s connections have expressed a desire to avoid Ballyburn and I noticed he’s been shortened for the Supreme today. If he alone went to the Supreme it would take the clear second fav out. He’s around 3/1 or 7/2 NRNB for the Bingham so if he were to come out…
…And if Ballyburn is Bingham bound you’d expect stable companion and current 4th favourite Mystical Power to go the Supreme route…
…And if I had one that’ll stay 3 miles well I’d be looking at the Albert Bartlett instead… Readin Tommy Wrong I’d expect to go for the Albert Bartlett anyway, but Gidleigh Park is only around 7/1 NRNB for the Bingham, if he were mine and Ballyburn runs – I’d go Albert Bartlett instead… And he’s only one who may switch to the longer distance.
So you are right, if the race cuts up Ballyburn could be as little as 4/5 in the Bingham.
The point I was making really is that Ballyburn would have a better chance in the Supreme than Bingham imo. But I can see why Mullins might want to run him in the latter – given the strengths now of his other novices. No wonder the amount bet ante-post has shrunk in recent times with so many options for top horses to avoid each other.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 19, 2024 at 22:55 #1681756Allow me to simplify this for everyone.
I’ve got 16/1 Ballyburn for the 2m5f jobbie that keeps changing name.
And I haven’t backed him at all for the Supreme.
If he runs in the Supreme I’ll cry even more than I did when Banbridge missed the Turners and a horse he would have murdered (Stage Star) won it.
And no one wants to see me cry.

I’m still crying about it.
February 20, 2024 at 08:37 #1681780I’ve cashed in Jeriko and gone with Mystical Power 6-1 ew nrnb instead. The number crunchers are saying Jeriko can’t win. If Ballyburn runs here nothing lost and if he don’t i got a Mullins one anyway.
February 20, 2024 at 10:32 #1681786” Slade Steel’s connections have expressed a desire to avoid Ballyburn ”
Thankfully the connections of Nicanor and Brindisi Breeze never did the same for their renewals
February 20, 2024 at 10:56 #1681790Agree Mark. Whatever happened to the saying “never be frightened of one horse”?
If Slade Steel runs in the Supreme, I think he will do well to finish in the first three.
The fact I have 14/1 against him for the Baring Bingham has not affected my thoughts on the situation at all…
February 20, 2024 at 11:08 #1681792I was thinking the 6/1 any race was a bit tight for Ballyburn at the end of the last festival but I slept well last night so it has it’s benefits

February 20, 2024 at 11:09 #1681794Agree guys. I’m on Slade Steel at double figures and he has a better chance in the other race regardless of who’s running.

February 23, 2024 at 18:08 #1682269Interesting to hear Ruby Walsh about Tullyhill. He wasn’t impressed at all. Too slow of a jumper
February 23, 2024 at 23:41 #1682322Tullyhill jumped fine the other day and more interesting was that he improved during the last half mile
Walsh claims quite often that some horses will improve for the stronger pace
March 6, 2024 at 15:45 #1683791He’s obviously one for next year, and he’ll only be kept in as a safety net, should anything happen to the big guns, but I went for Supersundae once confirmed.
125’s for a reason, but he looked an interesting recruit at entry stage, and as I can’t see anything else I’ll be backing in this, thought I’d give him a go just now. Took a couple of pounds at big odds on Exchange too.
Can’t see him going, but one for me to follow next year I reckon
Supersundae 125’s EW NRNB
Supersundae 480’sMarch 6, 2024 at 15:59 #1683793Nine of the 15 declared at five-day stage are Mullins.
March 6, 2024 at 17:46 #1683805It seems that Ballyburn will skip the Supreme according to the exchanges. It will be a small field if Mullins doesn’t declare too many runners.
Happy with my 9/1 for Firefox, especially now with Ballyburn probably missing this.
March 6, 2024 at 20:53 #1683828Ballyburn only just clinging onto favouritism now on the Exchange. It looks like he is heading for the Gallachers/Baring Bingham/Ballymore/Sun Alliance.
March 6, 2024 at 22:47 #1683835I think one thing it will mean if he’s going to the BB/Gallachers is the Albert Bartlett will be a huge field and a very competitive race, thinking about the likes of Gidleigh Park, Captain Teague etc almost certainly going up in trip to take on a strong looking Mullins trio of Readin Tommy Wrong, High Class Hero and Dancing City. That could be some race.
March 6, 2024 at 22:48 #1683836I’d expect Mystical Power to start favourite.
By Galilleo out of Annie Power and has an action that should if anything be suited by a sounder surface.…Unlike Tullyhill who – to me – looked to have a rounded action that may always want soft or heavy to produce his very best. Can understand him drifting in the market.
I’ve gradually taken prices today at an average of 6.25 Mystical Power and 14 Slade Steel.
Only half stakes as yet (if that) until we definitely know who goes where.Value Is Everything -
