JDR is too big at his hurdles and lacks a finish; he’s more like Josses Hill than even Binocular

I commented on it earlier in the thread but he was a nice back-to-lay proposition but the form is lacking

Wouldn’t touch JDR after today. He doesn’t seem genuine and was almost fighting against Walsh the whole way up the home straight.

His head carriage was all over the place

He’s either a nutter or he picked up a small injury

I think he’ll have learnt a lot more after yesterday as it was his first battle and to be honest I thought he was beat so that is to his credit that he wasn’t but he’s still got a mountain to climb to even place in a typical supreme and he’ll be no price at all, the layers will be happy to take him on on the day. His jumping could go either way couldn’t it, he might be a natural who can do it when he doesn’t have to think about but if he thinks about it at a slower pace he’ll do something stupid or he might just be a bad jumper. If its the latter he’ll get pulled up in the Supreme probably, if its the former he could yet show us what all the fuss is about. At the moment I’m getting major Charlie Parcs vibes here, proper talking horse who was bang average on the track.

Charlie Parcs would be a good shout

One thing I will add is that Hendo’s horses aren’t running as well as usual
An 8% strike rate is poor for that yard and Jonbon ran as if something was amiss

I think a lot of yards vaccinate in January so their form can be very erratic.

They do gm23, but even a trip to al-zarooni wouldnt be enough for JDR to have any chance

BHA Handicapper wasn’t impressed either, no change to JDR’s handicap mark of 132 which would be nearly 2 stone shy of winning most supremes. Maybe they’ll change tack and get another run into him and try and sneak into the County Hurdle

He’s won a couple of weak Newbury races ( there have been some awful maidens there recently ) and I’d have expected him to come well clear in at least one of them

He might do a Shishkin at the festival but he’s drifting to a more reasonable price now

It doesn’t make sense for me to back Jit Langy here at half the price he is for tomorrow, but I put a little bit on a double with him for this and Ballyburn for the Baring Bingham in case they fill the top 2 spaces tomorrow.

Ballyburn looks like a machine now coming to a Supreme near you in March.

Covered at 2s just in case he comes here though i still got a feeling he’ll go 2 and a half because of Mullins’ JP horses.

He will probably be a bigger price on the day, Mike. First race of the meeting with the bookmakers competing for business. I will be backing him then.

Mullins tight lipped with Hislop when she said it screams Supreme. He knows he’s won 2 and a half whilst his other main candidates for this haven’t.

Yeah, I’m still hoping he goes to the Baring Bingham

Townend might ride Mystical Power if Walsh sticks with JDR but it’s unlikely given Nico should be fit by then

No money talking here on either race, gut feeling is Ballyburn is a 2M horse, uses up too much petrol to be as effective over the mid-range trip. It might just be the impression he gives with that horrible head carriage though.
