“If Mirazur West beats everything in Ireland and Jeriko over here then what?”
They both run in the Supreme
If Mirazur west stays fit that is, very fragile family. Has he had any entries yet?
JP seems to have bought loads of speedy young horses. I think he wants to win the arkle and champion chase (two races I believe he’s never won)
He has down memory lane too remember
All with different trainers, they will run in the races they have the best chance of winning
Nothing about Jerikos run today suggested he’d be going near a ballymore and nicky regularly runs two good ones in a supreme (altior/buveur dair, jonbon and the hill for instance)
December 1, 2023 at 13:24 #1672351FF, Mirazur was entered for the maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse tomorrow, but the stable runs Ballyburn instead.
December 1, 2023 at 14:21 #1672356Was he? Good
Was getting concerned by the lack of entries
Will fairyhouse even be on, do they have frost covers like Newbury?
December 1, 2023 at 14:28 #1672357It’s not so much about the frost covers tomorrow its whether the temps get past freezing in time. Colder tomorrow vs today at UK tracks. Dunno about Ireland.
December 17, 2023 at 13:24 #16742122nd bet in this – Jimmy du Seuil at 40s ew, who starts for Mullins in a few minutes. Quite nicely bred and may be good enough to come here.
December 26, 2023 at 12:42 #1674998One bubble burst.
December 26, 2023 at 12:48 #1675000Definitely. Jumped right too. Willmount and JDR it is.
December 26, 2023 at 13:01 #1675001He’s better than that i think. Ran too free and another of Mullins’ potential stars who’s finished 2nd first time out and would be expected to do better next time.
December 26, 2023 at 18:32 #1675079Pulled hard and adjusted significantly to his right at every hurdle
Also still not a fan of his head carriage
Wouldn’t be for me at this stage
Slade steel hammered king of kingsfield
Interesting to see how down memory lane and daddy long legs get on tomorrow
Not seen a superstar novice yet
December 29, 2023 at 14:39 #1675564Hope Jeriko wins tomorrow, cashed in on Ballyburn I’m believing Mullins when he says he’s sticking to 2 and a half.
December 30, 2023 at 12:55 #1675721Jeriko looked good there.
December 30, 2023 at 13:17 #1675728At least he passed the test Jet Powered failed last year.
I think he is still in the “Could Be Anything” category but I am pleased to have him onside.
December 30, 2023 at 14:34 #1675759Definitely could be anything + to be honest the way the irish contingent are looking right now, it’s hard to say what you’d be confident to take him on with. I guess Its For Me is the one currently looking the one from WPM’s yard anyway, but he’s only won his maiden hurdle + there’s something about him that i’m not sure on currently.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 30, 2023 at 15:37 #1675777I thought it was interesting watching this weeks Road To Cheltenham Ruby saying about Daddy Long Legs 2nd run being straight into G1 company because there is nothing else for a novice winner to do other than go down the graded route in Ireland. Contrast that with what was probably a mickey mouse race today for Jeriko and we all act shocked when the UK hotpots turn up and get stuffed out of sight by the Irish. Guess what, the Irish are running in proper races as soon as they win because of the structure of the racing. Why did that race today even exist? Look at that Irish novice hurdle that had Ballyburn and Firefox in. We won’t get anything like that over here.
December 30, 2023 at 16:43 #1675788Tbf nickys hotpots regularly beat the Irish in this race even though they have no competition before march
It’s the other trainers ones that get stuffed
If you can get on nickys best one and Willie’s best one antepost in the Supreme you’re normally collecting post race
At worst you’ve finished 2nd and had a good run for your money
January 8, 2024 at 11:47 #1676651JDR has recorded an RPR of just 133 by Christmas and is only a point or two bigger than Altior’s starting price
So looking at the current market, It’s For Me at 10-1 ?
He beat Caldwell Potter, who has since won twice including a Grade 1One of the best bumper horses last season despite racing freely and looked to have matured on his hurdles debut at Punchestown
The price is a bit short but I think several of those around him in the market will race elsewhereJanuary 8, 2024 at 12:11 #1676657JDR looks to have plenty more in the tank. He could simply take off from 2 out in the Supreme for all we know. I don’t care much for RPRs generally, even less so for novices yet to show their full hand.
