Paddy Power offered me 66s ew for the complete header that is Westport Cove so I took it. He was optimistically described as a staying hurdler in the stable tour but I think this race would be more , ahem, suitable…if his brains don’t blow his earplugs out over the stands when the starter is trying to get them away.
I’m not surprised that he makes his first start in a QR race, with over 11 stones’ worth of Mullins Junior at the other end of the reins. This race was won last year by Il Etait Temps, a similarly enthusiastic character who did well through the season.
November 22, 2023 at 21:22 #1671455Mirazur West 10s and Ballyburn 12s at present.
November 23, 2023 at 11:26 #1671491Donwave ( now with Nicky Henderson ) looked really promising when winning at Auteuil. The runner up, well clear of the third, won his next two
November 24, 2023 at 21:34 #1671615Jeriko du reponet will hopefully run at Newbury or sandown in the next few weeks
November 30, 2023 at 05:03 #1672221Jeriko Du Reponet shining on the gallops apparently. Then again so does Mister Policeman ;o). Should win easily enough against trees tomorrow.
November 30, 2023 at 10:14 #1672233Henderson usually targets tomorrow’s race with what he thinks is a good one, so it looks as though Jeriko Du Reponet is at the top of the pecking order. Taken the 12/1 in the hope he hacks up and shortens, like Jet Powered did last year. Although I hope he goes on to do better than that one did!
Jet Powered is entered in two races at Newbury on Saturday.
November 30, 2023 at 10:51 #1672235I’ve talked myself into adding him at 12s. I can decide who I keep and who I don’t as the season goes on.
November 30, 2023 at 11:09 #1672240Ballyburn v Firefox in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse on Saturday. Really whets the appetite, although I suspect both might be better over two and a half miles.
November 30, 2023 at 14:22 #1672262I took 25s a month or so ago on jeriko
12s looks plenty short enough to me
Hendo really been talking him up
A lot more than he did Jet Powered (who may well have been a good horse, clearly had issues during his 2nd run)
November 30, 2023 at 17:51 #1672281Stylish performance from daddy long legs today
December 1, 2023 at 12:24 #1672339For a while William Hill were the only firm with Jeriko in the Supreme market so took the 20’s having heard the whispers about him in September.
I have Mirazur at 12’s. Will JP want both in the same race.
Having said that nothing has impressed me more than Willmount but assume he will be going over further if Jeriko goes for this.
December 1, 2023 at 12:31 #1672340He did it well but the second favourite messed about and made his task a lot easier.
December 1, 2023 at 12:34 #1672341Nicky runs multiple horses in this race regularly
So if willmount is a 2 miler he will run here
Jeriko jumped great and won easy as he liked but it was a weak enough race
Will learn more next time
December 1, 2023 at 12:36 #1672342He won with so much ease- but, DLLs yesterday was more impressive and there was at least some formlines involved.
Unless you back to the 2nds bumper form and the 3rds point run, JDR is very hard to get a grasp of.“will learn more next time” as FF91 says.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 1, 2023 at 12:41 #1672344It was similar to down memory lanes win
Maybe jeriko jumped better
But the race was so weak we didn’t learn much with a view to them winning this
The kennel gate has been removed so not sure where he goes next
December 1, 2023 at 12:43 #1672345I took some 33s Jeriko for the Ballymore for now, does JP run two top notchers in the Supreme? If Mirazur West beats everything in Ireland and Jeriko over here then what?
December 1, 2023 at 12:59 #1672346I did hear that Willmount is most likely to go for the Supreme. He looks like one of those stayers that often win this race.
