Ah that’s pretty nice, 8/1 NRNB. He’ll be that, or even shorter, if he’s confirmed for the race.
Don’t encourage them. I immediately looked for a Supreme quote after Kempton but I doubt many will be tempted by 8/1 even with NRNB. He was very professional but the opposition might have been pretty ordinary. I also think he will be better on good ground and the meeting quite often starts on the slowest ground of the week. Next step you would think would be the Adonis.
January 10, 2017 at 14:24 #1281244Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle is on this Saturday in Punchestown. Willie always sends his Supreme horses to this. The last 3 winners of the race are Min, Douvan and Vautour.
Mullins has the following entries;
Pravalaguna
Crack Mome
Cilaos Emery
Cadmium
Bunk Off EarlyMy guess is one of these horses will be Willie’s number 1 runner for the Supreme. They wont all turn up on Saturday but I think whoever Ruby is on for this race might be worth a small e/w bet for The Supreme.
All of the above horses have only had once appearance this season and they have all won.
Mullins also likes to give his Supreme horses 2 runs before the festival. The market might start taking shape after this race on Saturday or then again Ruby might fall at the last again and its back to square 1.
January 11, 2017 at 21:43 #1281506Hi folks – a horse I have been tracking since September could be an interesting runner in this. When Nicky done his stable tour at the beginning of the season he mentioned TOP VILLE BEN as a very nice recruit who would be a supreme horse.
A few week ago he appeared in a bumper at Ludlow and put in a nice display to win from the front. He is entered to run in the last hurdle on the card tomorrow at Leicester which he has been backed into evens favourite from 13/8. Unquoted for the supreme I contacted Bet365, paddy, William hill and skybet for a price. They have mostly now quoted 33s but 365 have offered 40s so I’ve taken some of that. With the doubts around Jenkins and Lough Derg Spirit flopping last day as well as Charli parcs triumph bound (according to hendo on on the line) he could end up being a much shorter price and higher up the stable rankings after tomorrow and perhaps another run. One to consider at a big price.January 11, 2017 at 23:16 #1281529Thanks for that KSS – I’ve had a tenner’sworth :)
January 12, 2017 at 15:49 #1281594Now that was a very nice debut. Jumped well and pulled away nicely when asked. Should shorten after that
January 12, 2017 at 16:09 #1281598He now joins any number who have won their novice hurdle. He won easily enough but he did have the run of the race and you do have to wonder at the value of the form. I backed the second who Johnson took at least three hurdles to get reasonably settled and then took the scenic route before only really getting busy after the second last. Personally, I thought he was the one to take out of the race. High Bridge won what looked a much stronger event at Catterick.
Regarding the Henderson comments on Charli Parcs it would have been a lot more helpful if Chapman had done his job properly and actually pressed the trainer as to a possible Supreme option.
January 12, 2017 at 16:27 #1281602Ach Stilvi dont be killing my dream on me!! I thought he was the best horse im that race but i’ll have a rewatch.Good start. Hopefully get another run soon and maybe ive one to follow at a big price. I have him small stakes so its a bit of fun for me in this one :)
Only seen the high bridge result looks like he won easy too. Will have a watch when i get home from work

For me he was never in any danger at any point in the race.First time out over hurdles jumped perfect. Good luck with your bet KSS.
Another run or two could well be in the frame.
January 12, 2017 at 17:19 #1281610Thanks botchy1!
January 13, 2017 at 11:04 #1281731Crack Mome going the Moscow Flyer. Can’t see it being 12/1 Saturday evening.
January 13, 2017 at 12:01 #1281739Hi All,
New to the forum.I thought I’d through in my current opinion on the top end of the race. Plumped ante post on Cilaos a few weeks ago and was happy to see him being clipped a few points into 10/1 this week. However I am surprised he is not going to Punchestown on Saturday, does anyone have any news?
Annoyingly I was close to splitting the stakes with CM. I might have to cover as well. Regarding Crack Mome – he was decent last time and set a decent TS figure. I don’t know much about Spanish Moon as a sire, not sure he’s covered much. He was quirky as hell though so I hope none of that has passed on to this one.
On another note, I am hoping for a big run from Any Second Now in the Punchestown race. He won nicely enough over Christmas in a big field. I have nibbled the 33/1 for the supreme in case he goes in tomorrow. I am also hoping it might create that McManus supreme shot that those of us on Defi for the triumph need (although McManus ran Binocular with CeeBee in the same race years ago).
January 13, 2017 at 12:14 #1281742Can’t be having Crack Mome in this and think it will get turned over by Meade’s tomorrow as well for good measure
Really underwhelming line up this year for this race but I suppose that’s not too bad as it makes for a good betting heat. Will be keeping my powder dry for on the day for this curtain raiser however as nothing has caught my eye and can’t foresee any drastic price cuts on the 4-5 that are on my radar.
January 13, 2017 at 13:01 #1281753CRACK MOME and MELON have been the talking horses around the Mullins yard for a few months. Unfortunately we’ve not seen MELON on the track since his import. I think CM was quoted at 50s when introduced to the market. Its the cornerstone of my doubles and trebles along with MIN 8’s and Bapuame 25’s. Good times ahead!!

Which Meade one mate? The one it beat LTO running green and inexperienced?
January 14, 2017 at 11:16 #1281970I love Consul De Thaix for this. Very happy I was able to get 65s + 70s after having him added to the market. Didn’t want to get greedy waiting for yet bigger!
Still a novice despite finishing behind some very good talent and looks to be very progressive. Follows Darlan/MTOY/GMOOH Betfair Hurdle > Supreme Novices’? Perhaps explains why NJH said Charli Parcs is his Triumph horse, because he knows he has CdT for the Supreme.
January 14, 2017 at 11:50 #1281995Still a bit of hope for Jenkins backers

January 14, 2017 at 12:23 #1282016Hi guys.
I think alot of readers are missing a trick with the supreme this year. CRACK MOME is clearly the horse to beat. Yes its true that CM probably isn’t the best horse in the stable (whispers are that MELON was ment to be thier Supreme horse) but in a race where most of the top end of the market wont turn up, CM still has enough potential to take it. It will have no trouble in dispensing of its rivals in the Moscow Flyer before going of at about 7/2 for the Supreme. I urge people to hoover up any 10’s still available. I’ll eat large amounts of humble pie if this is not the case. -
