I’m confident that we’ll see Veracious go closer than last year, so I’ve taken 7-1
September 30, 2020 at 19:54 #1504258What makes you that confident Kris?
October 1, 2020 at 10:49 #1504334Ryan is on Peaceful
October 1, 2020 at 12:16 #1504345Heavy ground wont be a surprise due to Storm Alex hitting Friday and Saturday. That should narrow down the field a bit.
October 1, 2020 at 17:49 #1504429nazeef 13/2 here for me
October 2, 2020 at 10:28 #150448612 hours of heavy rain forecast, I can see here and ascot having heavy going. Expecting rules 4’s to hit as the ground deteriorates.
October 2, 2020 at 11:42 #1504494Perhaps one of Gosdens might be a NR, i was thinking Terebellum would be likeliest. However, other than that, they’ll be bigger prices so hopefuly R4 won’t be too damaging….

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!October 2, 2020 at 12:08 #1504495Yeah damn the rule 4s, but expecting Terebellum to maybe come out. Champers Elysees should run though, but I’m siding with you Jack on this one, Peaceful off for 69 days and when you look at the Matron it did look like she might have needed that run slightly. I don’t think in tomorrow conditions Champers Elysees can do what she did in the Matron. This is much harder to run down horses in soft/heavy conditions. So I think Peaceful could reverse form.
The other one that looks solid is Nazeef. We’d have to forgive her run last time but it was over 10F on soft, so maybe that was too far for her. She has a perfect draw in 12, stalls positioned on the stands side and she should get a good toe in from there on the rail. I reckon Ryan might try and get Peaceful out quick and across to lead and then it’ll be who has the best horse between them from there.
I’ve gone slightly cold on Veracious with a middle draw, won’t be easy from there and not sure she’s that good to do it. Peaceful however, might be.
Worth backing both I think.
Peaceful 15/4
Nazeef 6/1Jac, I think the look of Feliciana De Vega, she should go well in the conditions, but off for a year has to be a worry. I will add her if there is money coming though, so will watch that over the next 24 hours.
October 2, 2020 at 13:33 #1504498Yes Frenchy Feliciana De Vega could be the surprise in the pack and Ralph Beckett has his team in top form.

I can only go by what I saw of her in the flesh at Newmarket in November 2018 as a 2yo and she was well forward then and won easily, she then went on to win a Listed Race at Deauville. She came back from her setback in August 2019 but sadly by then had missed the Classics for three year olds and ended 2019 by winning the Group 3 Darley Stakes back on the Rowley Mile (1m1f) by 3 lengths running on strongly.
Of her 5 starts she has won 3 times twice on soft and once on standard and in each race has been running on strongly never defeated by less than 3 lengths. She is definitely the dark horse of the field.
Peaceful WIN
Feliciana De Vega EW
Rev.ForecastThink the field will trim down a bit with the weather setting in so that 16’s (as she is now) could soon go but you could be right to wait for the money to come before backing her.
I think I’ve said this a hundred times … ‘I’m really looking forward to this one’.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 2, 2020 at 14:26 #1504500Why’s she been out for a year Jac, you know?
October 2, 2020 at 16:41 #1504509Hi Frenchy
I only knew she had a setback between December 2018 and August 2019 but no idea what this latest layoff was about. She obviously blossoms in the winter months and I found this article from April 2020 where Ralph Beckett is speaking confidently about her chances in Group 1 Company this season.
Also a chance to see her in action.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 2, 2020 at 23:28 #1504579The rain is falling heavy here in London and has been all evening and this is right across the south of the country. It’s got to be heavy tomorrow at Newmarket and Ascot.
October 3, 2020 at 05:26 #1504594AOB was going to run Peaceful in the L’opera but he said the ground is too soft. Is it going to be any better here?
October 3, 2020 at 07:04 #1504598I was trying to work that out as well Mike as Ryan Moore says this…
“…we know she handles soft and she showed she stays well when a narrow third in the French Oaks, and that could come in handy if the ground gets very deep and makes this a stamina test.”
– Ryan Moore on PeacefulSo I deduce from it, that AOB meant in terms of distance and soft ground together, it would not be ideal for her. Opera being another 2 furlongs of course. I think they think she’s going to bolt up today in ideal conditions actually. I’m getting more and more sweet on her. Nazeef is worryingly drifting, 9/1 for a soft ground Falmouth winner from earlier this season, something isn’t right there.
October 3, 2020 at 07:40 #1504601Rain tipping it down here 45 miles from Newmarket but Peaceful showed she handled heavy conditions last year when beaten a neck by Born With Prideand. Newmarket drains well but will probably turn to heavy if this continues.
For ground conditions and her experience of the track Peaceful comes out best every time.

October 3, 2020 at 08:26 #1504608Frenchy she may or may not win but the ground is not Peaceful’s ideal conditions.
