    @Frenchy
    Thanks for your in depth 10 year draw analysis on this race, it makes interesting reading and it’s also going to be interesting to see how this race pans out. Personally I don’t back my horses based on the draw at Newmarket I just go with my own form analysis based on the ground and stamina in general and it usually works quite well. I think the stalls will be in the centre for the 1m4f race.

    Weather down south here has been dry today and forecast again is dry tomorrow so we could possibly see the ground change to good by the time the Sun Chariot is due to run which could put the cat amongst the pigeons and will definitely play in the hands of Veracious, but having made my choices now I have to stick with them I have learnt never to change my mind. :yes:

    @BigG

    I have already had a small wager on our girl Lavender’s Blue like you at 6/1 and she has a chance if the ground changes significantly,but do feel that the step up from Group 3 is a big one.
    She can do nothing but run her to the best of her ability.

    Will be taking some time out to see if her owner Benny Andersson (Abba) is going to make an appearance in the paddock to watch his filly take her chances, we might even get a song if she wins. ;-) Good luck with her Graham. :good:

    Sorry for the bad pun, couldn’t resist :wacko:

    You've got to accentuate the positive.
    Eliminate the negative.
    Latch on to the affirmative.
    Don't mess with mister in between.

    VERACIOUS ew 6/1

    Loves Newmarket won her maiden on the rowley course and showed career best form last time on the July course with the promise of more to come.

    Cheveley Park Stud have an outstanding record in this race. They won it with PEERESS (2005)and INTEGRAL (2014) (both Stoute trained).
    They were 2nd in 2017, 2015,, 2013, 2007 and 2004. They were 3rd in 2009 and 2007. They clearly like to have a horse targeted at the Sun Chariot.

    Sir Michael is the master and can give them another winner. He has won this race 4 times with the first one coming in 1977.

    The master delivers us VERACIOUS in the form of her life and she will be a hard horse to beat today.

    Her mother was INFALLIBLE (cheveeley park stud owned) she won a maiden and a group 3 on the rowley track as well as 4th beaten just over a length in the 2008 1000 guineas over CD.
    Her career best performance came on her only run on gd/sft in the Falmouth at Newmarket.

    Her father wasnt too shabby at Newmarket or on gd/sft either.

    Stoute is flying with 6wins from last 24 runners and can be expected to produce a career peak VERACIOUS to land her season target for Cheveley Park Stud.

    THEY ARE FAR TOO GOOD
    THEY ARE CHEVELEY PARK STUD :yes:

    They all love Newmarket to be fair, 5 x Grp1 course winners in the line up.

    I’ve backed Iridessa and Lavender’s Blue with a saver on Veracious.
    Lavender’s Blue was impressive last time, needs to progress quite a bit more but is very progressive. Whether she acts on the ground remains to be seen, but at double figure odds is imo worth finding out. Wouldn’t be too concerned with the drift, unfashionable trainer and jockey and (unlike most here) doesn’t have Group 1 form – which will put off a lot of punters.
    Don’t really see why Hermosa or Laurens should reverse placings with the Matron winner Iridessa – other than Newmarket being particularly good for front/prominent runners. However, there looks plenty of pace here. Laurens, Hermosa, Veracious… and Crown Walk likes to be up there too. Laurens is usually so consistent and why was she below form last time? Not convinced Hermosa wants softish ground. Iridessa isn’t sure to like it either, but if acting on it a test of stamina at the trip should imo suit. She has an excellent record unless drifting and hasn’t really moved in the market so far. tbh Had I thought Veracious would get a soft lead she’d be my main bet – quickened from the front in a slowly run race in Falmouth. However, unlikely to get her own way this time, but at today’s price I must have a saver.

    Brilliant winner, VTC; top tipping.
    I was right to oppose Laurens and Hermosa, but my three could only follow you home. :rose:

    That’s one way to negate the draw bias. Position the stalls right against the far side! Wouldn’t have mattered anyway, Hermosa looks done for the season.

    Well done VTC with that call though!

    Well done Bobby :yahoo: that was a really inspired choice and a great price.. :yahoo: Richard Hannon was there today and once again Billesdon Brook wins herself another Group 1 in great style
    I really wrote her off for this as she had only won on soft once as a 2yo and last year was 6 lengths behind Laurens in this race.

    Laurens soon became the flavour of the day to win her second Sun Chariot but folded tamely and was the biggest disappointment of all along with Hermosa and I Can Fly…
    Veracious ran well on unsuitable ground to get 2nd but in no way was able to dictate with Iridessa in 3rd.

    After the race both Karl Burke and AOB where called to the Stewards Room, I have no idea why but don’t think Aiden O’Brien was there only Joseph.

    @Graham
    (BigG).. Lavender’s Blue looked amazing today but this was not her ground and she was out of her comfort zone. Personally hope she runs again this year back down in class and on Good or better ground, you could see your face in her coat she’s no way finished yet. :heart: Jac
