The great unfulfilled talent Strong Flow was put to sleep yesterday, along with his field mate How’s Your Father. Circumstances unclear.

    RIP

How sad. They hoped for years to get Strong Flow back to his best. He must have been a good age. Strangely enough, I was only thinking about him the other day.

Not that old Moe at 18. Remember him winning the Hennessy as a Novice back in 2003. Think he beat Hedgehunter that day. I think he then got injured in a dodgy Boxing Day performance and was never the same on his return to the track.

I read an article about him whilst siting in a pub in Northumberland; that’s why it sticks in my memory so much. Recall thinking how adored he was by his connections. And so much potential; they say when you buy a racehorse you buy a dream, don’t they? Sadly 18 wasn’t old enough.
