Looks wide open again this year, and this race gets more competitive each year, so should be plenty of angles…..

Three at the top of my shortlist just now.
Presenting Percy is interesting at 25’s, and who knows, could Elliot try a different approach with him. He’d be perfect for it, considering his Pertemps win, while Sire Du Berlais, who’s won the last two renewals of that race, will surely be considered for this………though no doubt Elliot will actually be targeting The Pertemps for both of them. Talking of The Pertemps, one of my regulars, The Storyteller, could also be extremely interesting.
I actually like Great White Shark of Mullins, and she’s open to progression. Big leap required, but thought her worth a shout. Stablemate Janidil is another horse I’d consider, and he’s a whopping 66’s. He’s of big interest this season to me, and if I thought for a second he wasn’t going over fences, he’d be high on the list too. He’s one of my big hopes for the season, but very difficult to second guess his target.
The other on my shortlist is McFabulous. Been following him from Day One, I think he’s a smashing horse, and he definitely progressed last year. I think he could be a big player in this.
Shortlist
McFabulous 20’s
The Storyteller 33’s
Sire Du Berlais 25’sAugust 2, 2020 at 16:13 #1496164Bobby, McFabulous is an interesting shout! Wouldn’t be against backing myself at some stage.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!August 2, 2020 at 18:31 #1496177I think Percy is going to be on the downgrade now , what’s everyone thoughts on Paisley park ?
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
August 2, 2020 at 18:34 #1496179Very nice horse Jack, always liked him, and I really do think he’s up to it.
My only concern is his previous run at the course.
August 2, 2020 at 20:17 #1496186Paisley Park would be a tough one to bet with real confidence after the problems of the last time but at 7s I have had a few pops at him because if they can get him back to anyway near his best he’d carry the lot of them.
The trouble is that rarely happens but by the time Shishkin wins the Arkle I won’t need worry about the rest of the festival..

August 2, 2020 at 23:34 #1496196I backed Paisley Park this year and the year before, but this year when he got to the turn in about fifth I could see he was in trouble and cashed him out for a £100 profit with bet 365. I am sure I will take a punt on him with bet 365 for the stayer hurdles next year.
August 5, 2020 at 13:38 #1496348Emitom at 25-1 looks the one who’s over priced at this stage. I think I’d be with him just now.
Also at 33-1, I like Reserve Tank if he went back over hurdles.
August 5, 2020 at 16:57 #1496359I was really excited about Reserve Tank last year. Definitely interesting if he comes back in good nick and goes over hurdles.
August 7, 2020 at 18:41 #1496509VTC, The Storyteller is a very interesting call at 33-1, but if I was going to have an early bet here, I would be with Penhill at 50-1. That is some price there?
September 6, 2020 at 23:26 #1500209Be interested to see how The Storyteller gets on at Galway tomorrow.
He’ll be Ten next year, which is a fair old negative to me, and I’m trying my hardest to go as long as possible without a Cheltenham bet, but at 33’s, he wouldn’t be that big a risk.
September 6, 2020 at 23:56 #1500212I love the Storyteller, he’s a nice price for this
is this the plan do you know.?
He might drift a bit before Cheltenham as they tend to run him half p!ssed all year round yet at Cheltenham he’s a bit of a machineGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
September 7, 2020 at 00:08 #1500213God knows what the plan is Nath….
Grand National?
Pertemps?
Stayers?
American Grand National? All possible targets, but I do know I like that 33’s.
His plan last season was The National, but no idea this time around.
September 7, 2020 at 00:14 #1500214Not having a bet yet but will be keeping an eye on Thyme Hill.
September 7, 2020 at 09:49 #1500245Some interesting antepost shouts. Sire De Beauralis stands out for me, however
Paisley Parks career record is 13 runs, 8 wins and 3 2nds. He’ll be 9 next festival but lightly raced. Having beaten the stayers winner by 3 lengths giving it 3lbs the race before the festival. Paisley surely can be forgiven 1 poor run. Bit early to write it off just yet.
I get your looking for value here so agreed not much value at 7s on Paisley.
September 7, 2020 at 18:37 #1500295Easy enough win for The Storyteller, but no real surprise that the 33’s holds tight.
September 20, 2020 at 13:40 #1502326At this stage I’d agree with 25-1 Emitom, I think he’s going to be worth a second chance this season
September 21, 2020 at 22:20 #1502508Emitom is going chasing
