The one I like is Fury Road. Although i’m surprised he is supposedly staying over hurdles this season, 20-1 represents good value as he was unlucky not to win the Albert Bartlett last March and beat Thyme Hill fair and square, albeit by only a length.
McFabulous is another on the shortlist but sticking with Fury Road at 20s for now.
October 15, 2020 at 13:22 #1506140I’m surprised at that, too; I’ve read their reasons but I wonder if he schooled poorly.
October 27, 2020 at 17:18 #1507520THYME HILL looks like turning up at Wetherby this week i think can win it but of course this only a starting point so has not run a shocker still think be main player come festival.
November 3, 2020 at 00:20 #1508424I’d never forgive myself if I didn’t bet him after him making the shortlist early doors, so I’ve added The Storyteller here at 33’s.
Talk of him going back over hurdles after his heroics on Saturday, and although he’ll be 10, this is where he’ll surely be heading.
He’s better than ever this year, so I’m happy with this price.
Great White Shark 33’s
McFabulous 20’s (cashed out)
The Storyteller 33’s EWNovember 3, 2020 at 14:14 #1508496Cracking set of entries for the lismullen hurdle on Sunday which may provide some pointers for this if a few turn up
At this stage ronald pump, fury Road, supasundae, sire du berlais, tiger roll and a few others
November 4, 2020 at 14:05 #1509092Sire Du Berlais the last of my fancies that I haven’t bet yet.
I’m seriously considering adding him to the other three. Being four handed, means I’ll obviously be looking to lay off a few points on them all for a free race, and I’m swaying that way at the moment.
My main concern would be whether or not Sire Du Berlais is ready to go first time.
November 6, 2020 at 09:16 #1509755SIRE DU BERLAIS for me, too high in the handicap now and has clearly been a plot job over the last couple of seasons to win the Pertemps final at the festival, so has course form and his win was 3 seconds quicker than the Stayers Hurdle last season.
SIRE beat THE STORYTELLER who has been smashing it out over the summer plus a 7 lengths beating to TOUT EST PERMIS in 3rd to who he gave a stone to in the Pertemps.
Should be there or thereabouts and if dining at the top table, this year the shackles will have to be released.
16/1 ew
November 8, 2020 at 13:17 #1510105Very good win today for Sire Du Berlais over a distance that would be short enough for him.
A lot depends on if Paisley Park can come back to his best but SDB is a good, consistent horse with course form. I would not look any further than him at the moment.
November 8, 2020 at 14:27 #1510122Lovely win over a distance far too short for SIRE DU BERLAIS today (really pleased with that), Elliot will know what he is doing around Christmas time and onwards towards the Stayers and hopefully smashing out another festival win for SIRE in what was turning into a poor division last season.
New young guns still to come out THYME HILL, FURY ROAD plus whatever Mullins will decide for this race but could not be happier with that start going forward….
SDB 16/1 ew
November 22, 2020 at 19:11 #15119207s best now for SDB.
November 24, 2020 at 23:03 #1512102This weekend might shake the market up. I’m still a Paisley park believer and happy with my 9s on that for the championship event.
However if Honest Vic can follow up the Cheltenham run in Friday’s race then 50s available now may be reduced.
Shud be a good race
November 26, 2020 at 15:59 #1512194Strange scenario surrounding Paisley tomorrow, if he wins like the old Paisley then he’s going to go 9/4 for the stayers and not really a proposition. If he loses tomorrow then it’s going to take a brave man to think he will return to his very best again. Starting to drift tomorrow and for the stayers hurdle on the exchanges. Maybe whatever his issue was in March isn’t totally gone? Was it a heart issue or shoe issue I can’t remember
November 26, 2020 at 16:25 #1512198Both heart and shoe issues
Member since March 2008November 26, 2020 at 17:06 #1512204They wont know if the issue is truly gone until the last couple of furlongs tomorrow
His heart may have recovered but his head may have not, if he remembers the pain he was in he simply may not be willing to put it all in again
For me they’d have been better off giving him a much easier first run back
November 26, 2020 at 19:27 #1512220“Both heart and shoe issues”
So a question of heart and sole(s)?
