Simply no way I can keep up to date posting my bets. Need to concentrate + time is of the essence today.
A number of lays though, and a few backs.
December 26, 2016 at 12:08 #1278507

Awful start. Working Title won. One saving grace is that I laid him at 4.8 and he won at 8.6.
December 26, 2016 at 18:50 #1278608Well, my lays today were mostly good. I laid 2 winners – Bishops Court and Working Title. Everything else was comfortably beaten.
My backs were ABYSMAL. The only good thing I backed was Royal Vacation – and I only backed him for a place! 54/1 BSP. Awful. Bendomingo getting collared up the run-in was painful. God knows what happened to Jenkins. He’s won on both seasonal debuts, and been beaten on both second starts.
Still, I’m a decent amount up today courtesy of getting on MTOY + Silviniaco Conti at silly odds/place terms. I don’t even know how much – I think it’s something around £150. I’ll go through tonight and work it out after Newcastle (hopefully!) beat Sheffield Weds.
Have to start studying for tomorrow’s racing now…
December 27, 2016 at 09:01 #1278679Anibale Fly was the lay of the day for me yesterday, maybe lay of the year!!
December 28, 2016 at 11:07 #1278890How so?
Well yesterday was pretty good, but the Welsh National was a disaster of a race for me.

Firstly, I forgot to back Houblon Des Obeaux EW before the race. Far too much racing on and I got distracted. Bad.
Secondly, I laid Native River at 3.95. Nothing wrong with that, he was far too short IMO.
HOWEVER, as soon as Onenightinvienna was pulled up (RIP :( ), I should have traded out for a loss of around £1.50 on my Native River lay. I didn’t, and it cost me £28. Not backing Houblon EW cost me another £40-odd.
Then for the second day in a row I decided to have a football bet on the late game. On the 26th it was backing Newcastle, yesterday it was backing U2.5 goals in the Liverpool-Stoke game. Cost me a total of £50, which is ridiculous. My stakes should have been £5-10 instead of £30 and £20.
Anyway, for the 26th + 27th I made a total of around £160.
So let’s just say I’m sitting on £360.
Not much happening today. Had no inclination to study the jumps today given the inspections (Catterick’s off already, Leicester will likely follow).
But there are 3 I fancy at Leopardstown, and a lay at Lingfield.
Leop 12.15, Montalbano £21 1.87
If this wins, I’ll put the stake + winnings on VVM in the Xmas Hurdle, followed by the same thing on Carter McKay in the bumper. So basically a £21 Willie Mullins treble. I very much hope Valseur Lido wins the Lexus, as I’m on him at 16s for the Gold Cup, and I’d very much like a shorter price to trade my bet off for a profit. Nothing gets close to Thistlecrack.
As for the lay…Lingfield 3.30 I’ll Be Good, I’ll be either place laying or 4 place laying to win £21, so I should break even today at the very least.
December 28, 2016 at 12:32 #1278920Montalbano wins, so that’s £38.50 running onto VVM at 1.79.
Leicester’s on! So we can look for a few lays here.
Bit of a punt on Paddy’s The Deejay in the 12.55. Unless they’ve been playing games, I think he’s up against it. 1st time cheekpieces, a 5lb claimer + a career low mark, BUT a big drop in trip and he’s up against three decent looking rivals.
Lay at 4.2 to win £10.
December 28, 2016 at 13:08 #1278928First one beaten, despite being sent off 9/4f. Bizarre market move.
£369.60
(-£21 for Mullins treble, unsettled)
December 28, 2016 at 13:20 #1278931This looks a very hot beginners chase at Leopardstown.
Place laid Gwencily Barbas (sic?) at 3.3 to win £10
December 28, 2016 at 13:27 #1278933Finished about 6th I think.
£379.20
December 28, 2016 at 14:26 #1278945Vroum Vroum Mag does the business, so we’ve got £67 running onto Carter McKay at 1.51 in the 3.35.
December 28, 2016 at 14:29 #1278947Definitely laying Zarib on this ground in the 3.10. Laid at 3.0 to win £10.
December 28, 2016 at 14:43 #1278949And a back of Judgement Day in the 3.25. £10 at 3.1.
December 28, 2016 at 15:08 #1278953Laid Don Poli in-running at 5.8 to win £10.
£388.60
Carter McKay, Judgement Day, Zarib + I’ll Be Good to come.
December 28, 2016 at 15:17 #1278956That is ******* ridiculous what’s happened there with Zarib. -£19.88
£368.72
December 28, 2016 at 15:21 #1278958******* Bendomingo and now Master Dee in 3 days
December 28, 2016 at 15:25 #1278960You can learn valuable lessons from my **** ups. Bendomingo – should’ve traded out at 1.17 odd for a guaranteed win. Native River – should’ve traded out as soon as Onenightinvienna was out for a slight loss. Zarib – should’ve traded out as soon as Master Dee messed up the last. Has cost me over £100.
December 28, 2016 at 15:28 #1278962I’ve got £5 on Varsovien at 7.0.
4 place laid I’ll Be Good at 5.1 to win £20
