Henri Matisse 5-1 ew for now.
Ryan Moore in post race interview says the horse will improve from today.

June 8, 2025 at 22:21 #1732612If Ruling Court turns up here do they find something else for Shadow of Light ,maybe the 3 year old sprint .
June 9, 2025 at 08:14 #1732619Commonwealth Cup for Shadow of Light
Yes, agree David… Great for the race.. Having had a string of bets on Field of Gold I would have preferred he ran in the Derby but Appleby could run 5 Ruling Courts and FOG will breese past them all…

June 11, 2025 at 12:55 #1732731Cosmic Year not declared
June 13, 2025 at 19:12 #1732898Should be a fascinating tactical race. Henri has a great cruising speed and needs to be timed to perfection. Not sure how good field of gold is as the Irish guineas didn’t tell us much. Big test for colin keane.
June 13, 2025 at 19:22 #1732899I am with Henri EW, Moore to time his run to drop his head in front 50 yards out(well thats my plan

I will wait for day of the market as i am awful ante post
June 15, 2025 at 10:09 #1733067Only seven declared, which is a pity for the each-way thieves:
Field Of Gold
First Wave
Henri Matisse
Officer
Rashabar
Ruling Court

June 15, 2025 at 14:36 #1733092Is Oisin Murphy being reduced to pacemaking duties here? 🤔
June 15, 2025 at 15:05 #1733094Depends how fast the other pacemakers go

June 15, 2025 at 17:43 #1733106Should be a fascinating tactical battle. Both ruling court and field of gold have the same type of way of going and Henri matisse has tremendous tactical speed. Any 1 of 3 could win it imho.
June 15, 2025 at 21:58 #1733123I’ll go with the Kingman storyline. Both sire and son just pipped in the Guineas, make up for it in the Irish, show their class in the James’s. 5/6, is what it is. I could see Colin Keane having either a great day here or a miserable one, no in between.
June 17, 2025 at 01:05 #1733226Field Of Gold should’ve beat Ruling Court in the Guineas, but not by much…
And the form of the Irish race wasn’t imo any better than what FOG should’ve shown at Newmarket.
That said, FOG probably has more improvement in him… But even so – had Field Of Gold beaten Ruling Court a length in the Guineas, I can’t see the gap between the two being as much as the current 4/5 and 4/1. Presumably punters are just thinking A should’ve beaten B therefore they are backing A whatever the price. Or are put off by Ruling Court not running at Epsom. But he’s bred to be a miler / 10f horse. For me Field Of Gold has “only” double the chance of Ruling Court.
Form of the French Guineas (with 5 horses finishing within 1 1/2 lengths despite a fast pace) doesn’t look as good as either English or Irish Guineas. Henri Matisse may well be the sort who only does enough and can see him progressing again but needs to find quite a bit of improvement to challenge FOG and RC if that pair run to form.
Is a shame there’s only 7 runners – 2 places for each way purposes – but with four runners @ 28/1, 50/1, 66/1 and 80/1 it still makes each way betting appealing. Almost looks a 3 horse race provided something doesn’t get a very soft lead. So 2 places isn’t bad.Ruling Court @ 4/1 each way 1/4 odds is imo a good bet.
imo This race can be broken into three.
50% Field of Gold – fair Evens.
25% Ruling Court – fair 3/1…
And 25% the combined chance of the other 5 horses – Henri Matisse with the four outsiders.Value Is Everything - AuthorPosts
