Chesham runners are three from three this week
Crypto force, the foxes and yesterday’s runner too Sunningdale.
I’ve been on two of them.
Anyone on my selections this week should be several hundred pounds up, so this unlikely winner is a bet to nothing.
There was something very wrong on the day with the outcome of the Chesham all of the fancied runners underperformed and the winner who had not seen a race track blew them all away.
I have the answer to it, free energy and the draw. You’d have to go back to the original race card to see how it worked, but work it did. The most eagerly awaited return is that of Alfred Munnings who will surely win his next race.
Rank outsider legend of Xanadu has not scored in several outings since Royal Ascot and whilst he is up against it today off top weight, a change in tactics could see an upturn in fortunes under a good jockey.
    LEGEND OF XANADU
    Win
    BAKEEL
    Win
    Salisbury 3.44
Hollie Doyle and Tom Marquand are the two jockeys here.
If this race goes to form then the two principals one with Mill reef form and the other bolt action should be well clear of the field. I’m hoping for a turn up for the books. This is an unlikely scenario but on this week’s form, it is a free bet to nothing and I will always favour the underdog.

Legend of Xanadu was lit up in a first time visor and flattered to deceive for a long way.
Bakeel also ran above station but class told and the leading pair swept through to win comfortably. This was a much improved showing from lox and being able to compete at this level is a step in the right direction and should score at a lower level.
    Well beaten but improvement.

    Chelmsford 6pm

    FULLY WET
    Win
    DREAMING PRINCESS
    Each way
    FULLY WET was
Expected to go well in the Albany and sent off third favourite. No show there.
Given plenty of time to recover and returns in the same grade as win at Goodwood which sent her to Royal Ascot.
Every chance here if back on terms and connections obviously hold her in high regard. No overfaced for recovery mission.

    I tilted at windmills yesterday.
No harm in that, only fairy stories belong in that realm.
The aptly named ledgend of Xanadu ran a blinder and the dream looked good for a while as he kicked clear.
Reality kicked in and the magic visor’s charm wore off and my ten bob floated into the bookies satchel while the afore noted Bolt action flew clear and wallop! the dream was over. If dropped in trip and class, with that confidence booster under his belt LEDGEND OF XANADU should be hard to beat next race.
Today I’m tackling a much easier 21 runner maiden hurdle in Ireland.
Art of Silence could win this but first has to negotiate the opening hurdles in what looks a very competitive race. Sam Ewing has done well this week and looks to have another good ride here.
He came to grief very early on last time and I can see several taking him on for the lead straight away.
My selection however has the very best form coming into this race and could go straight into handicaps now, a string of placed efforts including a latest fourth to hereditary rule the best of them. Art of Silence therefore must be taken on. There will be plenty of money for AOS and my choice will likely drift on course don’t be surprised to see 3 or even 4/1 as the favourite is well backed.
    Gowran park 1.35
    Gordon Elliott’s
    WEE WILLIE NAIL
    Win
drops in trip and I really think this horse is the classsy one here.
Davy Russell continues the partnership and his experience should be vital in the closing stages. An opening maiden hurdle place behind Prairie Dancer is another key piece of form given that that horse has run to a mark of 132 subsequently and is due another rise.
You won’t get rich at the price but the form coming into the race looks very strong.
He seems to be laid out for this race given he is dropped in trip today.

Art of Silence has been taken out of the race and a 20% deduction looms.
Now a certain school of thought says
Wee Willie nails chances have been enhanced.
My mindset says they have not been enhanced by 20%. A certain dynamic has been taken out of the race. And that most certainly brings other horses (whose trainers perceived that they had lesser hopes) into the race.
So with less of a challenge and a focus Wee Willie Nails prospects have changed radically enough for me to reconsider and pull out on the basis that the anticipated odds of 3/1 will not now Materialise. My original stake will come back, there was a small profit a while ago, but full stake returned is fine.
    Complex but there it.
Wee Willie nail may win, but at the price is a watching brief now!!
Back to the drawing board  .

A new selection for the Gowran park race that has tied me up in knots.
    SINGLE EDITION
Has decent form and has been well backed.
He was well in front of Art of Silence when they met in a bumper and the boost of that one’s absence obviously gives confidence.
    SINGLE EDITION win @ 7/2
    Furthermore some connected form,
Single Edition beat Champella in a bumper.
Champella was 6.5 lengths subsequently to Saylavee (who runs in the next race) in a bumper before beating EVENWOODSONOFAGUN in a maiden hurdle.
Single Edition has come in from 14/1.

SAYLAVEE is a very strong fancy for the next division of the maiden hurdle. It is a pity that that race does not come first but he was a facile winner of his bumper, is very well bred and a step up to maiden company is a natural progression and may win by a wide margin if jumping cleanly.
Sticking with the maiden hurdles sphere for the first two divisions
    Gowran park 1407
SAYLAVEE faces a battle royal with the mediator and I think he will just come out on top.
If getting on top of the inform Elliot yard who win these battles regularly, then I take SAYLAVEE to do it well and the 5/1 on winning by five lengths or more is worth going for along with the win bet.

    SAYLAVEE to win 6/5
    SAYLAVEE to win by 5 lengths+ @ 5/1

Highly successful soul selection thread going great guns.
Nice 5/1 winner saylavee winning by a massive margin to go with the 6/5.
Wee Willie nails did get home and did it well but I had already bailed out and while single edition ran a great race prominent throughout he couldn’t lay a glove on the original selection in the run in.
A massive revamp needed on the other thread after the last two days, so I’ll continue to put my best up here and have a rethink about the other thread.

    Ascot 1.51
The top rated horses look well clear here and the field is split in two by the defection of Acklam express.
    KING’S LYNN
    MANACCAN
    EBRO RIVER
And last year’s winner TIS MARVELOUS all have soft ground form which will be vital here.
Tis Marvelous is well treated and finished clear of the brilliant Minzaal in this race.
Manaccan was denied a clear run last time and receives a boost here in the form of the horse drawn alongside pulling out.
No need to take any firm line about the winner here as a collective tricast may see a winning dividend involving these four runners which may be above the 24 units required to make a profit.
    Combination tricast or trifecta
Might be worth considering the trifecta as the races are in an international pool on a Saturday.

It has been a great meeting on the soft Paris turf and before you know it, it is over again.
British and Irish runners done well and Alpinista was the highlight.
Andre Fabre and his jockey M.Barzelona have also done well and have a runner in the finale which might run to past form.
    GAIDAR

    Gaidar 5th at Longchamp.

    Southwell 8pm
    MERSEYSIDE
    WIN @ 22/1
Kevin Ryan has a nice runner who debuts for the yard tonight
A string of good efforts over 10 f on ” soft” ground in France culminating in a win stepped up to 10.5f at Longchamp under M.Barzelona
Final run in may over the classic trip.
Owned by sheikh Mohammed who enjoyed success with Fonteyn at the weekend.
Should enjoy getting toe into this surface and a viable alternative to the favourites here.
    Only runner at Southwell.

    3pm
    Galway
    JON SNOW
    Win evens
    JON SNOW to win by 7 + lengths @ 3/1 or better(7/2)

Willie Mullins runner looks highly progressive and has a massive opportunity to assert here.
Encouraging debut behind Enniskerry and midnight run.
That form was enhanced when the front two again filled the same places next time out.
Jon Snow went on to win his next chase run.
Frontal assault looks to be the main threat following his national second. But this trip looks to be on the absolute minimum of his range and first run back I cannot see this challenger putting it up to the Ricci horse.
In fact I can see Jon Snow going away in the later stages to win by a decent margin.
Bacardys the stablemate is likely to set the early pace and keep this field honest and may well follow the selection home.

    ———————————————
Good run from MERSEYSIDE which will have blown away the cobwebs. Led for a significant way from the off before folding in the home straight.
Significantly better than earlier selection Jon snow who was outclassed and could not conceed the weight to any of his rivals. Experience was crucial in the race in the final analysis.

    Navan

    YOUNG IRELAND
    Win
Has run well behind Augustus Rodin, Hans Anderson, and put up career best in running third to Chesham also ran crypto force and 106 rated Adelaide river in the group 2 Beresford last time.
Rated 97 now and even with two from Ballydoyle opposing, looks to hold strong claims.
String of withdrawals, but well drawn and the stands rail seems to be the key to racing today on the going, but prominent start also vital.

Disappointing run from young Ireland but in the mix for a while and not his day.

    SEDGEFIELD 4pm
    LADY STANWIX
    Win
Put up an exceptional debut over hurdles last time.
Straight into novice company after winning a point and bumper and matched an odds on 1/7 Gordon Elliott runner stride for stride, going down by just 2.25 lengths to Happy dex.
That runner had had several runs over hurdles already including a maiden hurdle win. Conceeded half a stone to that rival and runs off levels to all today.
    ———————————————

well held when slipped and fell before last fence.

I’ve just given FONISKA as a bog standard win bet when it really ought to have been in here.
Won readily and the search for another winner moves on to here..
    LUTINEBELLA 2.15 w.
    Win
Has won a bumper over the course and distance and has performed to a great standard in bumpers. Third in a grade 2 at Aintree when last seen, if she can jump 🦘 she should win against these rivals who although respected off levels are handicapped against her.

    John McConnell’s race to lose.
Trainer has won this race for last two years with different jockeys.
    S. Rutledge rides here and takes five pounds off the top weight who was winning for the first time for yard, last run after arriving here on a 90 mark last year. Won off 62 so should be more to come.

    Dundalk 5.30
    KING OF SCOTIA
    Win
Ran a race full of restraint and promise behind continuous at the Curragh in a big field.
That form really boosted when the winner went in at saint cloud last week in a group three and has entries in the big race at Doncaster later this month.
If transferring a modicum of ability to the all weather should win here.
( Found just one too good)

    Newmarket 3pm

Both naval power and nostrum have big claims here.
    Nostrum gets the vote.
The outcome will be very informative as to the direction of next year’s races
