There will be just the one selection in this thread on any given day. It might be a win bet or an each way. It may be a forecast or tricast. It could be in Ireland, Hong Kong, England, Scotland, France or Wales. I’ve only ever given one maximum win selection. So it is rarely if ever going to be a max win selection. It won’t necessarily be the best of the day either. It will not be an at the post selection, although it may go up as late ten minutes pre race. I will try and post plenty of notice if I can. There will definitely not be one of these daily.

    THE TIDE TURNS. Win
    Newcastle 1.25
Jockey made an awful error when trying to be too smart. Obviously there is a handicap mark to preserve when trying to run up a sequence on a Prescott horse and Ryan Tate was going hands and heels into the home turn. As he went for the persuader, he got it stuck at his side lost the advantage and was beaten at the line.
The horse has about ten pounds still in hand
(probably more) Trainer has been forced to drop horse back in trip ( start again) and redeploy Luke Morris. Summary… led, going best over 3f out, clear over 2f out, pressed when rider fumbled with whip 110 yards out, ridden belatedly and headed towards finish
This horse is at a slight disadvantage here as this is not the intended route and he now meets a few progressive types here but may still be good enough at a trip where he has the distance. He will be taken on for the lead but luckily should still have a bit in hand. Unpenalized for last display.
    Selection third
I didn’t realise that starting again meant they had to achieve a low mark again before attempting to win!! Fandabidozi made eye catching progress towards the end.
Very poor contest which very few actually wanted to win.

Hopefully I will make a better “Soul” Selection next time up than an SMP near odds on shot!

    Bright ideas win
    The Curragh
Has to be very well treated on the face of it.
Has sat on the same mark for a year since running champers Elysees to half a length on handicap debut giving four pounds. Won on return to fictitious lady.
Should be up in the high 90s so if Ryan Moore can get this one going will hold every chance in what will be a very rough race.

    Marbling win and place.
    2.30
    The Curragh
They must like what they have seen of this one at home as it has been heavily backed ahead of debut. Could be anything. But gone from 8/1 to 3/1 in the blink of an eye. Has to adapt to new surroundings and different race conditions. But on the video evidence looks a highly talented individual. Interesting top of the ground running action. Entered in a big race next month so may well need the run here. But Colin Keane got off the stables other horse to ride this one.

    Bellewstown 5.30
    Friendly. Win
A very good opportunity for this one and me to get off the mark
Placed in all maidens seems to appreciate and prefer this trip and off an assessment of 101 with runs in the guineas and at royal ascot ought to be good enough tO Win this race. The absence of any other O’Brien family horses is also encouraging.
Won very easily by several lengths

Good to get in the groove with a ready winner yesterday.
Today’s this selection is not expected to tear up trees, I think a decent run in this big field maiden is highly likely. Has a nice low draw.
Lakomet Of Saints has just three runs under his belt. The Helmet gelding ran close up behind Earlswood on debut in March before a never nearer third to probe over a mile.
Earlswood ran fourth in the Derby off a mark of 108 and relished a gradual step up in trip.
Lakomet Of Saints is crying out for further and a rating all of which he’ll get after today. Lakomet Of Saints each way 12/1 or better limerick

Eleven winners today 8 seconds and a third and I cannot get one of them in this section!
Shows how hard it can be to put one up in a comp, which is one good reason why I don’t do them.

    Fairyhouse 5.25
Yeomanstown Stud ‘Dark Angel’ Irish EBF Fillies Maiden of €14,000.00 2-y-o 6f. 10 Declared
    Concert Hall win
    Very well bred.
Was a non runner for a maiden previously
( off feed) won by J.O’Brien’s Seisei.
    Entered in Moyglare September.
Only one previous runner in this field and very likely Concert Hall is ready now, having skipped previous engagement. Also entered in Moyglare.

Posted this selection this morning, way before I discovered that pennine Hills was the subject of a very favourable barrier trial.
On viewing it I added pennine Hills to the main thread as a joint win selection along with Concert Hall. Pennine Hills was an impressive winner. Concert Hall was a good 2nd and will win in due course.

    Hurricane lane win
    Saiydabad
    Reverse forecast
Could not have been more impressive in the Irish derby.
He has a real fight on here though as he is the one they are looking to beat. This is a real test of character. Connections really fancy the challenge and have been receptive to the overtures made by french racing and supplemented him for this. William Buick takes on the best french jockeys with Soullimon back from Hong Kong and Ballydoyle running three. Wordsworth was squeezed on the rail last time out so could improve, but Hurricane and the runner up were seven lengths clear that day. They will certainly be queing up to tackle this one but I think he will see them all off.
    Saiydabad
strikes me as the one who may get closest to Hurricane lane running on fourth over shorter to St Marks Basllica last time.
    Tremendously easy winner

    Japan win
    6pm
    Leopardstown
6th to Wonderful Tonight in a stunning renewal of the Hardwick stakes.
Sir Ron Priestley and Hukkum have reappeared and won since already.
They finished either side of Japan.
Japan has come down in the ratings and is still well clear here. Having already won close to this distance at the higher level should not be inconvenienced by the drop in trip.
Close to a maximum win bet and may yet be upgraded to such if the market speaks.
3/14 won and had to battle but Ryan Moore got him home well enough
