Thinking back to Ar Mad and Traffic Fluide, it might be worth keeping an eye on these improving types from Moore’s yard and I’ve backed Antony at 14s for this
October 28, 2016 at 19:53 #1269071I’m on Saphir Du Rheu Ante-Post at 10’s Joe, but I like Antony as well, and had a few quid ew at the 14’s.
October 28, 2016 at 19:55 #1269074Then I shall wish you luck, my friend! :)
October 29, 2016 at 09:59 #1269222Blimey Joe you got in before Pricewise!!

I have backed A GOOD SKIN at 11/1 and BUCKHORN TIMOTHY at 20/1 earlier in the week.
But surely if SDR is anything like back to his old form he should win this but I an not convinced!!
October 29, 2016 at 13:28 #1269281I like the look of VOIX D’EAU. Won well in one of the handicaps at the
Festival, running on strongly up the hill at the end of 2m 4f. Decent enough come back
at Chepstow 3 weeks ago should have him right. He will like the ground, and the way he
finished at Cheltenham suggest to me he may well improve for the step up to 3m. I think
9/1 is worth taking.October 29, 2016 at 13:39 #1269286Best of luck everyone, think this SDR will go off under 2/1. Big punt on this today.

You’ve got the prices Raymo.
I thought 8/1 and 12/1 were good prices about AGS and BT.
Saved on SDR, first time out is the time to back that one – then leave it alone. 3/1 is a touch too short to make him a main bet.
Tizzard in great form and BT seemed an improved performer last time out when stable weren’t going so well.
Same goes for AGS.Value Is EverythingOctober 29, 2016 at 15:23 #1269303I should have added apart from VIOX D’EAU, I’ve had a bit of a mental e/w on on WORKBENCHat 40s,
he shouldn’t really be up to this, but Dan Skelton’s stable is going so well (6 winners and 8 2nds
in last fortnight) that maybe he can up his game and sneak a place. Who knows

Cracking stuff Joe.
Value Is EverythingOctober 29, 2016 at 15:45 #1269306Thanks, Ginger. He must be a decent horse because he went left at every fence. Should pick up a decent race left handed
October 29, 2016 at 15:50 #1269307Great reasoning Joe and well picked out early on. Congrats to Bobby too,
who took the 14s as well
October 29, 2016 at 15:56 #1269309Joe and Bobby
Two wise heads that must be followed when they agree!!Well done both of you top picking !!!

I noted that too, Joe. Although other than that he actually jumped better than a lot of them. Think A Good Skin travelled well for a long way but put off by the winner jumping left when travelling alongside. Buckhorn Timothy didn’t jump one right and am convinced Saphir De Rheu is better either with room or in smaller fields. Disappointed jockey didn’t take him wide today. Junction Fourteen got a soft lead when the other pace horse Killala Quay didn’t perform, Emma’s horse flattered. Antony imo suited by a speed test at the trip, sprinting clear. Could easily do better but no “Grand National horse”. One who lasted longer than I expected given how he raced was Tea For Two, could do better without sweating up and too free; especially when trainer is in better form in Winter.
Value Is EverythingOctober 29, 2016 at 16:25 #1269317I think A Good Skin put in some sketchy jumps Ginge. It may have been as you said because of the winner jumping left but he didn’t seem to pick up as well as I hoped and as fas as Tim is concerned he made a bad mistake quite early and I think that did for his confidence!!
October 29, 2016 at 17:27 #1269321Aye, well done Bobby who was in ahead of me.
Ginger, you might be right about SDR. He got lit up early in that scramble for positions and seemed nervy and unsettled for a while. Interesting to hear PFN say beforehand he thought the horse looked fat despite taking a huge amount of work.
I thought in the Hennessy last year that he blew up, and if he went there with this race under his belt I’d be very, very interested in him, though he might want dropping out or kept away from the hustle and bustle. I think he has lots of talent and come the end of the season, today’s performance in giving 25lbs away to the winner could look a good one.
On a side note, Gary Moore seems somehow to get substantial improvement from some horses. I’ll be keeping a closer eye on him. He was unlucky with the soundness last season of two potential stars and he could rack up a few more big victories this season.
October 29, 2016 at 17:34 #1269323Thanks men+++, followed your advice on Antony as I had no strong fancy myself; during the race I was concerned by his jumping left, but never seemed to lose ground. Even better doubled with Stern Rubin, who is always competitive. Once again jockey stole a few lengths at the start, needed them at the end
October 29, 2016 at 17:41 #1269325Great stuff to those who backed the horse today.

I agree with Steeplechasing that the run from SDR will look an almost impossible task in the future.
