I ended-up backing Verasi this morning, in the hope that it really is bottomless, but will get clobbered by Rule 4’s even if he does consent.
January 24, 2009 at 17:39 #206242I can remember "Montgermont" giving "Star de mohaison" 9lbs at Aintree
a couple of years ago and running a visually better race than his finishing position shows! He also went off favourite for the Hennessey one year too
if my memory serves me well, he has always had a look of a good horse
but has only won twice in his career? i will have a small interest e/w at 9/1January 24, 2009 at 19:29 #206261Quite a few of these are either out of form or not one to trust.
Laskari is in good form and tasted recent succes at the course and looks good ew value at double figure odds.
According To Pete is also in fine form and deserves his place at the head of the market.

Admitting it is always the first step, Fists…
January 25, 2009 at 20:20 #206466A fantastic performance from Big Fella Thanks who broke his duck finally over fences.
According to Pete ran a brave race but the weight and ground went against him and i think he would be an ideal sort for a race like the French Champion Hurdle over an extended 3m1f.
The winner looks tailor made for the 4m Novices at the Festival and maybe the Scottish National.
Groundwise it was very tacky and dead and horses had to be tough out their.
All in all a cracking day out and well worth the visit.

What do you reckon Neil? A great battle over the 4 miler between Big Fella Thanks and Wichita Lineman?
Could be a great match up
January 25, 2009 at 23:52 #206500That sounds an even better race than the Gold Cup plus it will be on C4 and what a race to start off with.
January 26, 2009 at 01:13 #206518Big Fella Thanks saw his fair share of money for the Skybet last week, and as I said on the cleeve hurdle thread he has been pretty vocal about Big Bucks. If you want to follow nicholls you have to listen to what hes actually saying.
