Many thanks to all. As has been mentioned elsewhere, this syndicate is Mounty’s baby and he deserves all the credit (but not all the cash); he did used to ask for my input into the selections, but there’s only so many times you can hear "not putting that in" before you decide to keep your mouth shut. He did ask again on Saturday, but I think that’s more for the sake of my vanity than our wealth…….
November 23, 2008 at 17:37 #191530Well done Rory- after your interview on Timeform Radio this morning, are you going to be syndicate’s rep on the Morning Line next week?

Well done Rory,
How about investing in repossesed house’s, you will make a mint when the recession is over and the economy builds again then you can buy quallity bred horse’s and possibly have them training with Godolphin and maybe an Arc winner or a Derby winner?
Maybe im going to far lol.

You’d be surprised how few houses you could buy with my share of the winnings Mr Wilson!

~ how poor was it? Was being wined and wined (I know that should be dined, but you get my drift) by Betfair all day in their box at Haydock so may have been slightly tired and emotional at that stage. Oddly enough, it transpired that another syndicate was represented in the same box, so we all watched the final leg on my laptop. We were able to cheer Duff home quiet happily due to the time delay as I could see he’d gone "offers" to back at the 3 furlong pole! Great atmosphere and everyone was great.November 23, 2008 at 22:59 #191574Congratulations guys, well done
November 23, 2008 at 23:16 #191575Congratulations folks, have to be happy with that one.
November 24, 2008 at 00:02 #191585Congrats to all!
The biggest pat on the back should go to the guy form Newbury, who scooped £437,011 from a mere £2 bet. Well done, sir.
November 24, 2008 at 00:34 #191589Well done Mounty, Rory, SL et al… Nice to see the money going to some of the good guys…

That’s a generous assessment!
November 24, 2008 at 01:27 #191600Well done chaps (and chapette) as someone who bailed out on the first leg I am not at all envious

I’ll second that. Thanks for all your messages of support, drinks on me at Newbury. Though last time I mixed alcohol and Newbury I got on the wrong train and woke up at Taunton instead of Paddington. Not very convenient when you’re going to York the next day. Still, could have been worse, train was bound for Penzance.
November 24, 2008 at 03:23 #191626Scoop six is a total joke. Why place the responsibility of a massive pool on awful races at awful tracks such as Lingfield? It encourages corruption because the prize money for the race itself is so far out of proportion with the scoop six jackpot. I take a small amount of satisfaction that I would never bet on half those races let alone half those horses that won the jackpot usually. Although obviously the moolah woud come in handy!
November 24, 2008 at 03:46 #191631Credit, where its due, as much as we love our horses we gamble to win money. I get a great feeling when i land an Ante-post touch, being able to predict an outcome months in advance keeps my confidence where it needs to be, but that is just one selection. I take my hat off to Rory and Mounty for selecting 6 winners on 1 bet, You guys must be buzzing! Whats gonna win the Hennessey chaps? Albertas run??
November 24, 2008 at 04:15 #191640I suspect they won’t really care after some well-calculated hedging…..
