What a race. If even half of them run anywhere near form it’ll be a cracker.
December 28, 2020 at 14:34 #1515636MI and DW not completing was a shame for the race. Wd winners.

So close with Kemboy, unlucky festive period for me so far.
December 28, 2020 at 14:39 #1515642Poor ride from Cooper on Tornado Flyer. Was never put in the race and was ridden like a non stayer. Melon on the other hand probably didn’t quite get the 3 miles although was ridden as if he would by Patrick and nabbed a place.
Well done to anyone on the winner, great ride by Darragh O’Keefe as well
December 28, 2020 at 14:55 #1515649What a thrilling race!!!
Well done winners and well done to Jerry Hannon: “It’s looking good for Willie Mullins!”….
From that moment on the A Plus Tard became a certainty crowned by another Roaring Bull moment 50 yards from the line.December 28, 2020 at 15:02 #1515651Great race, for some reason Kemboy is definitely a different animal at leopardstown and punchestown than he appears to be anywhere else. I believe it has taken a heck of a performance to beat him today. They went a very solid gallop and there was no hiding place. No fences omitted, genuine soft ground, no hard luck stories really. What a horse melon is, and how unfortunate for him to keep getting so close in big races without winning them. I think he might not stay the gold cup trip up the hill but the Ryanair should be ideal for him based on today’s performance.
A Plus Tard 173
Kemboy 172
Melon 170
Allaho 160
Tornado Flyer 160Compared well with my view of the King George
Frodon 173
Waiting Patiently 171
Clan Des Obeaux 165
Saint Calvados 165
Santini 164
Black Op 156December 28, 2020 at 15:19 #1515654Waiting Patiently is a professional loser with over 800 days without a win. A rating in the lower 160s is perfect for him.
December 28, 2020 at 15:21 #1515655Nube Nigra yesterday, A Plus Tard today – great selections. WD Lemons68!
December 28, 2020 at 15:27 #1515659Wexford how can there be no hard luck stories when the 2 market leaders fell?
December 28, 2020 at 15:35 #1515662Firstly, well done to those who picked the winner.
On a personal note I was sure Melon would be on the bridle turning for home (Previous post), did he fail to stay? A lot of good horses outstayed by him today, but does anyone reckon Patrick should of held onto him instead of cantering 3 lengths clear? Surely he would of been much closer if he did.
All I do know three very good horses there and I have already bet Melon for Ryanair at 22/1
and a screwy bet at 66\1 for the Gold cup, Where ever he goes they will wait and wait next time….December 28, 2020 at 15:49 #1515663Mike,I understand your point but in my book a hard luck story is a horse hampered in running or being impeded by a Faller or being trapped in on the rail etc. Neither delta work or minella info were in hard luck, they just didn’t jump or land well enough.
December 28, 2020 at 16:04 #1515665presenting percy is a big disappointment
December 28, 2020 at 18:28 #1515684Never saw the race but listened to the commentary , I’ve said numerous times I wasn’t convinced last year’s RSA wasa good 1 and nothing happened today to change my mind , got my e.w with Kemboy , anyone else think allaho might go to the Ryanair now ?
December 28, 2020 at 18:43 #1515685Yes probably. As usual the Ry****r will rob the QMCC and GC blind.
