Having done some online research at the usual place; have found the charming Kate and her jockey boyfriend. Nice looking pair…. Kate is not the person that I’d thought may have posted on here some years ago, she’s far too young.
Case closed.
February 3, 2021 at 23:52 #1521206My interest was wether Seabird boarded the Victoria bound train at Haywards Heath. I am always more interested where someone gets on a train than where they might get off.
There was an old poster
called Katy
Who wrote the odd word
and was ….February 5, 2021 at 01:32 #1521378

Vague memories of that name, but brought to mind another girlie called caravan- I think her other half also posted on here? but maybe not.
Would be jolly japes to have some sort of quiz to remember who was who back then
February 5, 2021 at 09:17 #1521393Whether it was LRM / Debs, who incidentally very much wore the trousers in that marriage ( according to Slippy Blue – who metamorphised later into the fine filly Salsabil ) that encouraged the family content – and am I allowed to say girly presences in here.
I can remember Cybermum and Nev and their bucket ‘n’ spade holidays in middle England’s splashy beaches, Tete Rouge who I enmbarrased in a cabbage patch and went bananas saying I was tarnishing her somewhat of a reputation she flouted around Oxford. Soba ( I think Irish based ) Zoz, Zome, Meshy Katy and Daisy ( who popped back from winters in Trinidad ) The over sensitive Pocket Rocket (Ruth) Batfink who I downed a few krones with in Hampstead and had been living in Australia as a marine Biologist when on Flutter and complained bitterly when I set her up as a red dressed barmaid in one of my fictions. ” But it’s just not me – I never wear dresses and red isn’t my colour ! “) Based in Plymouth when I spoke last to her – yonks ago.
Jilly (boots), Lolly’s mates girl, Kathy, Ugly Mare, the lady who always wore a towel ( forget her name rather annoyingly ) Diane Avis who was always in a black number and Sharp Blade who wore shades and was only ever seen in the company of royalty ( notably one Ante Post King)
I have listed a few women; the double yolks we might call them, as they are such a rarity now in these these heavily moustachioed, smoke filled days, of gunslingers, hijackers, and cocky Court Jesters ! Hmmm 🧐

An impressive list. The towel girl was Burrough Hill Lad (Gilly) and you seem to have missed out our award-winning photographer Tracy Roberts (Mully) she lived in a place I know well as it’s home to the Black Swans
February 5, 2021 at 12:06 #1521400The lady with the towel was Burroughhill, an accounts clerk (clerkess?) at M&S if memory serves
edit: soz Tanker, crossed post
Subs-only SmartSig was my sole racing abode during the virtual palaeolithic when you lot were erecting henge-like eternal monuments to now long gone deities. Potts was a regular there, Alcoe dipped his toe and a few others from that ‘thinking punters’ board have paid fleeting visits here; but most are long gone too…or perhaps are seething in the vile Black Hole of Twatter where Drones will never buzz
Egress to public boards such as this was measured and cautious having only begun during the neolithic circa 2004, and the correspondent I most enjoyed, clearly of the non cis-XY persuasion, was Eclipse First, who burst in, riveted for a couple of years, then disappeared
Kingston Town provided good entertainment and Miss Woodford wrote knowledgeably on North American matters, though I think Miss was actually a Mr
By the way Gamble you seem to be confusing ‘bird with ‘gull. ‘Twas the latter who boarded the Brighton Belle to visit his chum, or alter-ego, the wideboy old boy

No probs, Droner
February 7, 2021 at 11:51 #1521902Ta for solving that mental irritation big fine worded man and putting the correct towel on a horse 🐎 that last ran 33 Chritmasses past. Twas indeed Bourouhhill who I spent two claustrophobic weeks with in the Truffle big brother house. She won it too. Lake later thought incorrectly he was in the jacuzzi with Jilly who was never there – and had she been it would have been a different affair and Raz kept mum for the whole 14 days.
I have also got my birds confused Seagull indeed and a totally different animal. The boards started far earlier than 2004 circa 2000 and pre even, I would say.
Never heard of SmartSig but had a rare and pleasant meeting with Alcoe last year – in a socially distanced leafy setting in the company of krones. What he thought of the much tarnished gamble I dread to think.
Yes Kingston Town and Miss Woodford, not easily forgotten but the passing years hardly help do they Lekha ? And so another browned autumn leaf !

Batfink used to post on the betfair forum, gamble. Sundancekid was always sniffing around her. She worked down here at Paignton Zoo for a while – or maybe that’s just a dream I had

People used to get a bit sniffy about the Specials forum, thought it was beneath them. Ian may have gone on there misunderstanding the title?
Oh, I’ve made myself laugh there
February 9, 2021 at 00:37 #1522289Colonel Archaius Tory – it was the most absurdly reactionary name I could think of the evening I made it up.

Cheers, Chief!
I must admit to having some very fond memories of the forums over the years. Been almost crying with laughter on here tonight – I’m easily pleased, mind.
