Had a free bet on banbridge at 14s a few weeks ago
But have taken some of the 7s on allaho after Willie confirmed he will be aiming for a third win in the race
He’s My favourite horse in training and he owes me nothing after winning on him nice amounts in both Ryanair and the punchestown gold cup
Might end up he’s not the horse he was but we can let heart rule head occasionally
And this looks a very weak race on paper
October 22, 2023 at 17:40 #1667808I is on Jonbon 6-1. Hopefully El Fabiolo will be awesome in Ireland and Henderson switches.
October 22, 2023 at 17:47 #1667809After putting him up this time last year for the Turners, I have to side with Banbridge at 14/1.
Looking at the horses quoted shorter than him, one or two are doubtful runners and some of the others have been around the block a few times.
Jonbon would be a serious contender – but maybe Henderson will be tempted to stick to two miles with only El Fabiolo to beat.
Banbridge could be the rising star in this division.
October 22, 2023 at 17:52 #1667810Jonbon would need to lose a couple of times pre festival to end up here
October 22, 2023 at 18:13 #1667817“Jonbon would need to lose a couple of times pre festival to end up here”
Depends. If the Ryanair is going to be as weak as you say, give the horse the best chance to win a race at the Festival. Henderson would need to use some common sense as imo he won’t beat an in form El Fabiolo.
October 22, 2023 at 18:50 #1667823Hendo doesn’t usually do that does he?
He’d much rather win a champion chase
And you can never be scared off by one horse
I’d imagine they’d be quite keen to have another go at el fabiolo and try to make it 2-1 to jonbon.
Jonbon wins the tingle creek there’s only one race he’s running in at Cheltenham.
October 22, 2023 at 19:06 #1667827Jonbon will spend his whole career coming 2nd at the Festival at this rate ;o)
October 22, 2023 at 19:25 #1667828Very possible
He’s a very good horse but not a top notcher
And he’s bumped into two top notchers in the Supreme and arkle
October 22, 2023 at 22:38 #1667837“free bets” or not….Banbridge when he’s very ground dependant reeks risk to me.
Banbridge is best 16/1 for this antepost in October.
Saint Roi is 50/1 with 1l 1/2 difference.
Is he on the injured list or something?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!October 23, 2023 at 02:31 #1667844.
October 23, 2023 at 08:45 #1667856At 14/1, I think the risk is factored into the price.
I believe Banbridge is OK on good to soft, it is only on very soft ground when it might be an issue.
October 24, 2023 at 18:31 #1667960Banbridge was one of my big hopes for last season, and I was really happy with how it went, considering I initially liked him for The National Hunt Chase.
You’re certainly risking it this far out with him, considering they’ll have no qualms about withdrawing him, but always planned to follow him this season, so happy to take the 16’s
Banbridge 16’s
October 24, 2023 at 20:15 #1667980Allaho to start in the clonmel oil chase
He always comes on for the run big time so be interesting to see how he gets on
November 9, 2023 at 14:48 #1669828I’ll chance Allaho 4-1 before his run.
November 9, 2023 at 22:38 #1669875Nice little jog around for allaho
Was like a training exercise on desperate ground
I’d imagine we won’t see him now till the grade 2 at thurles in january
He wins that well he goes off 5/4-6/4
November 18, 2023 at 14:35 #1670907Added Stage Star 5-1. Building the right kind of profile for this.
November 19, 2023 at 11:16 #1671013Allaho and stage star will both be trying to lead
I’d be extremely surprised if stage star managed to lead Allaho and if he does they will likely cut each others throats
Which makes envoi allen look tremendous value at 14/1
