Do ou think so? Part of me agrees, but another part of me thinks Made In Taipan is overpriced at 10/1.
December 27, 2009 at 00:11 #265761If Tranquil Sea wins tomorrow I think EOG will be tempted to aim him at the Champion Chase given the doubts over Master Minded.
I love the horse but I’m not sure he’ll be quick enough for 2m. 2m5 in the Ryanair would be perfect for him. I’m struggling to see the logic behind Poquelin being shorter than him in most books.
December 27, 2009 at 19:04 #265921Poquelin was giving Tranquil Sea weight last time out was only 4L behind and ran on well. Also won last time Poquelin did and he loves the course most wins have been at Cheltenham. and has the top jockey and trainer so that is why he is shorter.Though i think Tranquil Sea can beat him again.
A bit dissapointed with Tranquil Sea today however i feel he still win the Ryanair.
January 5, 2010 at 15:35 #267917This time last year I backed Voy Por Ustedes at 11/2 for the Ryanair, following his impressive Ascot win (which I think took the edge of him) he was odds on and narrowly beaten in the Ryanair despite a serious jumping error.
At 8/1 this is an each way steal.January 11, 2010 at 09:09 #269236Can anyone tell me that in the light of NTD’s comments about IC going straight for the Gold Cup that his Ryannair entry has now been scratched? Looking at b365, PP and Ladbrokes markets he’s still prominent in the betting. Thanks.
January 11, 2010 at 09:44 #269237Entries haven’t been made for any of the Cheltenham Festival races as yet, darren – hence why Imperial Commander appears in the betting for both RyanAir and Gold Cup.

At 8/1 this is an each way steal.I also backed him ante post for this a couple of months ago. However, I wouldn’t be touching him now. I’d love to be proved wrong but like a lot of King’s horses he looks to have peaked early and is now regressing.
January 11, 2010 at 11:05 #269246OK maybe I should rephrase, will it be more than likely that IC won’t be entered in the Ryannair due to the fact he will be going for the GC (IMO the Ryannair would be a more realistic target). My AP bet on him now is in the balance!
January 11, 2010 at 11:13 #269247I’d say he’s 90% certain to be entered in both – if the Ryanair looked like cutting up they’d surely go for that?

Sorry Irish,Imperial Commander will go for the Gold Cup,win lose or draw, next year he will be back in the Ryanair if he fails to get the trip! Rich,it doesn"t look good mate! I know the feeling all too well, but thats the risk of Ante-Post I"m afraid!
January 11, 2010 at 11:53 #269250It’s interesting that NTD wants another crack at Kauto Star and Denman, at his favoured Cheltenham he looks sure to be in the first 4 at least. TAPK – my AP bets are only very small relatively speaking (£5 max) so I’m not too disheartened if he turns out to be a NR! I must say this is the first year I’ve tried Ante Post betting, I got stung in the Welsh National as I had a bet on Campanero so have only dabbled a bit at the festival with some small bets, worth a go at the big prices I suppose! Tataniano for the Arkle remains my live AP bet, really think this one will go extremely well in what looks probably the best race of the festival at the moment.

January 11, 2010 at 12:00 #269255So what have you got your eye on then Irish?
January 11, 2010 at 12:50 #269262Cooldine each-way at the moment though would prefer to see how he goes in the Hennessy before backing him

Very interesting,Irish get yourself a fiver on the machine at 130,Now! if he even gets an entry he will be 10/1!
January 11, 2010 at 13:25 #269277Sorry I meant Imperial Commander runs in the Gold Cup so I get a better price about Cooldine in the same race Gord
