Wouldn’t get 2m 5f on an undulating track at festival pace with turbo boosters, liquid nitrogen, and a lift from superman.

What form has Forpady’ shown that suggests he could get into a photo finish with Master Minded

On a line through "Made in Taipan", Forpady, on genuine Goodish ground will finish in front of Big Zeb,he is a cracking bet at 6/1 without The Master! Twist Magic is a bigger danger than Big Zeb!

You better hope Kalahari King makes the same mistake that he did last year otherwise Forpady won’t see his arse for dust when he flies past.

Anybody else like Barker in this race? Meant to be working well and at 33s(BP) wonder if he can run into a place. Might just wait for a market without Master Minded mind

He’s been largely confined to right-handed tracks so far, shers100, and the worry would be about him acting on the course. He also has a fair bit to find on form, I reckon (though, perversely, I reckon he could be better than Big Zeb), and he would need to improve on what he’s shown so far, to trouble the places.

    He’s not for me.

I just cant see Forpady getting involved in the finish, he’s too one-paced.

Master Minded to win, Kalahari King to finish second, with Big Zeb in third.

Apologies, thought this was the QMCC thread.

Although this is the thread for the Ryanair and we appear to be talking about the QMCC. I personally reckon.

Forpadydeplasterer is best on good ground and at 2 miles he probably needs there to be a decent pace, on good ground I also think he would go well in the Ryanair.

Master Minded is at his worst on good ground, and in last years QMCC wasnt at his brilliant best on what believe was a good surface, yet he still finished 9 lengths ahead of petit robin who is a similar type to forpadpdeplaster. Also Master Minded was beaten at aintree in 2008 on good ground by VPU, and where most would say he didnt get the trip that day I would say that the ground leaves him vulnerable. Masster Minded is possibly the best NH horse in training but I think on good ground he wont run to within 10lbs of his best form and therefore if he meets a good ground horse who is capable of a 170ish performance on good ground he could be run close.

Master Minded will go off at a good pace in the QMCC, which will suit Forpadydeplasterer, but how much better than petit robin is forpadydeplasterer. At 10-1 best price he isnt a bet for me but if he was 16s and it was good ground I would probably try him e/w but didnt think he was really that emphatic last year in the arkle on a good surface to suggest he’s anything above average. We will see on the day.

Can we try and keep it on-topic, lads – there is already a well established Champion Chase thread.

    Well said.

    Henderson on ATR-Chelts
"The Ryanair is his race without question. When he won with AP at Newbury over two miles three last year he couldn’t believe he kept such a gallop up. This is the trip and good ground is ideal."

Just hope something is good enough to tow him along, he’s used to Kauto and Denman doing that!!

    I completely agree.

I don’t think he even has to run to the best of his ability to win this race.

Class always shines through in the end.

Voy Por + 16/1 / Ryanair Chase = Very happy Walker!!

    Albertas run

defineately runs in the Ryanair now and there"s nothing between him and

    Voy Por Ustedes

on their King george running behind Kauto Star! A Reverse forecast is something i"ve never done before!I wonder what 16"s and 20"s would pay? Another cracking race in prospect! :)

Some problems I can see with that Gord but please don’t let me put you off.

Alberta’s Run is a stone better horse on this ground than he is on good to soft.
The other is when he beat VPU albeit getting weight he wouldn’t be anywhere near the shape he’ll be in tomorrow.

VPU is now 11 years old and I’m pretty sure Alan King hasn’t been pushing him. I think he’s trained him in the hope there’s one good race in him and this is it but he’s flogging a dead horse and his time has passed.

I think Alberta’s Run is going to shock a few people tomorrow and won’t be far away.

There’s Poquelin and Tranquil Sea to contend with who could easily fill the first 2 places but I have my doubts if they are going to find this as easy as the races either have been winning this season.

There are so many that could win this but Barber’s Shop stands out a mile to me.

He really wasn’t anywhere near ready to go the road he went last season but Nicky Henderson decided to let him take his chance in the Gold Cup.

Barber’s Shop was going every bit as well as Denman in the Hennessy 4 out and even when the big horse quickened on the home turn he still manged to stay within 1 1/2 lengths of him but then he hit stamina barrier. He ran on ok but couldn’t raise another ounce of stamina to get past Niche Market who he had cruised past on the home turn.

He’s only won once at 3 miles and it wasn’t a great race by any stretch of the imagination. They say he doesn’t have a trip but I can’t have that. He was only 7 years old and while he wasn’t over raced he was set some real tough tasks for a horse who Nicky said needed more time.

The Ryanair looks tailormaid for him, he travels really well in his races and the ground looks perfect for him. With a bit less emphaisis on stamina and more on speed if Barry can keep him together I could see him leaving them all standing on the run to the last.

    Barber’s Shop for me.

Apologies if it’s been mentioned already, but what do people think about Voy Por Ustedes wearing blinkers?
