Very unusual condition reported; familiar with it in humans, but not in racehorses. The Ryanair shaping up as it’s supposed to be, a grade 2 chase, always reliant on the occasional star, such as Vautour or Allaho, Both of whom should have been going for the GC.

“You can find safer 6/5 favourites any day of any week.”

There are times when you need to listen to your Uncle Chezza, annoying though that (and Chezza!) may be.

I’ve got 5/1 NRNB Blue Lord for this, a possible rare case of a NRNB wager actually representing a bit of value – I should have it framed.

I think the Ryanair might be over a longer trip, Mike, so I’m standing by saying it’s “possible.”

I hadn’t realised you’d used bad language, TC!

I’ve just been back to check – how exciting!

I’d demand a VAR replay if I was you – “u” might get off on technicality, if you get my drift.

The fact that Blue Lord is fav now shows how poor a race this is , I wouldnt touch him at double the price

Poor Blue Lord – he’s got more haters than Chezza!

OR of 166 – and that’s an Irish one – 11-length Grade 1 winner over 2m1f at Christmas, has beaten a King George winner over 2m4f110yds and has been crying out for the Ryanair trip, you won’t all be saying this after Gentleman Du Mee goes and wins the Champion Chase!

In fact, Chezza can feel a related-contingency double coming on!

On a point of general principle, Chezza’s had the NRNB double at 43/1 for as much as the William Hill organisation would allow Chezza – which wasn’t much!

If I were JP Mcmanus I’d say to Joseph “skip Ascot and let’s concentrate on Cheltenham and Aintree”

Shhhh Mike. We need him in the race at the weekend to hold up the price on Pic D’orhy ;-)

Yep. The Ascot chase can be a tough one. Remember the one where Speredek took off and cooked himself, Cue Card took it up, pressed by Frodon and eventually went down fighting to Waiting Patiently ? Dinger of a race but a tough one on all of them.

I saw Speredek in two Point-to-Points last season – he didn’t win those either.

I think that I must have had a rush of blood to my head when I bet Fanion D’Estruval here, so I’ve added Envoi Allen 12-1 non runner no bet.

I’m still getting over the fall of Haut En Couleurs last time. He would obviously have won, and I seriously considered making him the second selection before he runs today, but it’s Envoi for me

Capodanno to defy weight and layoff and win today and get supplemented instead of HEC ;-)
