Probably good. The favourite underperformed the rag was too close in 3rd. The winner a player in this I would say.

Henderson has said that Altior will run in the Silviniaco Conte over 2m4f presumably instead of the Clarence House.
Much as it would’ve surprised me a few weeks ago I think the Ryanair may be in their thoughts so I’ll take the 14/1 now before it goes.

I’m going on the Thursday to see Paisley Park if Altior were to run the same day that would be the icing on the cake

I really hope they do not go to this race with Altior. Why have they convinced themselves he needs to go up in distance? He is unbeaten over 2 miles over obstacles. Why change a winning formula? I believe he would win the Champion Chase again if they let him take his chance.

Because he is getting older and getting slower I’d guess

Look how close politologue and sceau royal got in the champion chase

I also don’t think they want to race defi in the clarence house after having been beaten by cyrname. They want an easier option IMO.

He probably still goes for the QMCC i think. Nicky will want too. If he does beat Frodon (earmarked for race) then he’s be half the 14s or even shorter. Just not sure he’ll go here.

Really need NRNB. You would think Henry will be tempted to go for the Champion Chase with A Plus Tard after his Leopardstown run.

This is definitely Altiors race rather than the QMCC. Not just because of the extra distance but the course on the Thursday is more stamina demanding than the sharp course on the Wednesday.

Likely to be nicer ground also, as the water put down in the days prior to the Tuesday has had longer to dry (Based on the ‘normal’ March weather of course).

Whether Hendo goes to this race over a QMCC is a different matter altogether though.

Sceau Royal jumped the last marginally in front of Altior in the QMCC but by the line he was at least three lengths behind. I just do not see where the evidence is that a horse who is unbeaten over two miles is too slow for it now.

Iv had a £5 free bet on him at 14/1 if he wins on Saturday he will be fav for this

And if he actually turns up he will be 2/1

Just think that price is worth rolling the dice on

The market now suggests altior is not running this weekend

At some point his participation in any race at Cheltenham comes into question

Glad I only had a free bet on him

Pleased to see that Altior is not going to run in this race.

Just wish Henderson did not make these sort of announcements via a bookmaker.

    Added Cadmium here.

Although I still can’t see past A Plus Tard, should he go for it, I’m not regretting taking the money and running with him, as it saves me waiting out the final call.

I was really blown away by Cadmium at Aintree, and I’m hoping that Mullins can get him back to that level once the yard gets properly going.

I am 100% behind A Plus Tard for this one got him at 16/1 before he beat Chacun..Frodon looked good and maybe back to himself but its a little too late in the day for me personally..Meade seems to think Road to Respect is a different horse this year is alot more stronger maybe so id be having a look there if A Plus Tard took a chance in the champ chase

Like the Cadmium shout VTC at that sort of price. Might join you with whatever i can get matched….little late to get that price i’d guess.

    *edit*

    As i feared i can’t get near 130s. 75s only available.

Given the fact i wouldn’t be surprised if he was beat this weekend (if taking part) i’ll leave him.

One that interested me and i took the only £4 available was Voix Du Reve at 250s. Poor run last time, but some of mullins weren’t running well at all. He first run of the year was promising + he has form left handed for all most of it is right handed. I can’t see him going over a GC trip and this race can cut up. Happy enough to take a cheap punt.

I’m taking Riders Onthe Storm here. He’ll need to settle better but he looks like he could be anything.
