The writing was on the wall a long, long way from home. He didn’t jump with any fluency and made some peculiar shapes in the air. But he went out like a light and I doubt he would have won even if he had jumped better.

I don’t think he would have won over any distance today and there didn’t look to be any excuse.

He got thumped by The New Lion , prob shouldn’t have been a bubble in the first place , Bankrupt saying on ITV that it the same 3 run again the placing won’t be the same , Im not so sure

Mullins said in his interview on RTV that Townend was not happy with the shape the horse made over the third last and had speculated that something might be hurting him. Mullins then wondered if something may come to light tomorrow.

I suppose it is not impossible. But I never like excuses being made for beaten horses and it does look like straw clutching. The horse didn’t even finish second.

Elliotts horse made up a mountain of ground on the front 2 ,Elliott said on RTV that he was delighted as he hasn’t done a mountain of work , maybe he’s the horse to take out of this

Stupidly waited on Kappa Jy Pyke, who was 33’s NRNB yesterday. Blue for The Arkle as well, and assume he’s been tipped up.

Can get 16’s NRNB, but too big a difference from 33’s, and went without the safety net

Really liked last run, thought I’d spotted a quiet prep for future target, before he flew home

33’s seems ok to me, even with chat that he might head Fairyhouse

    Kappa Jy Pyke 33’s

I think Ruby’s tipped / spoken favourably about Kappa Jy Pyke for the Arkle, then Pricewise must have listened to him cause he gave him a big mention

Guess much will depend on Final Demand and how happy they are with him in a few weeks time.

I doubt they’ll want to take on Lulamba and Romeo Coolio ( potentially ) whilst they have Kopek ( probably ) and Kargese ( more distance dependent than KJP ) for the Arkle.

Kaid D’Authie is JP and I doubt they want to send Kitzbuhel left handed after his Sandown fall.

Final Demand: (for all the slagging off he’s taken, he is still fav in every book)

“I think he was off-colour and Willie said to me that he was a bit down in himself after the race,” says Drew, “but Willie feels he can turn him around fairly quickly. Fingers crossed he can do that and he can still take his place in the Brown Advisory.

“Four and a half weeks out nothing is certain, but personally I have every hope he’ll make it to the Wednesday of the festival.”

Final Demand, who Drew owns in partnership with Caroline Tisdall, has drifted out to 4-1 with Unibet and BetVictor for the Brown Advisory, but his biggest supporter is not giving up as quickly as some people appear to have.

At 5/1 it is tempting to back Final Demand. Surely he could bounce back. At that price it is worth a try.

    Final Demand 5/1
