“The one with the main jockey is almost always overbet meaning the 2nd string is often better value and still has a top class pilot on board normally.”
100% agree with this – we see it time and time again.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"May 4, 2021 at 23:24 #1539733If Coolmore had Santa Barbara in there as a decoy Fav for Mother Earth then Mother Earth would have been punted into 2/1 Fav. When Tabor and Smith get told to back one, by god they back it. She went off 10s, so the market tells you that theory is highly unlikely.
May 4, 2021 at 23:42 #1539734It depends on the race. Classics wise, the statistics tell you that Coolmores first strings are more accurately selected for the 2000 Guineas, Oaks, and Leger. The second / third / fouth (!) strings have more of a chance in the 1000G and Derby. The Derby I understand, as they have so many stoutly bred Galileo’s its like a conveyor belt. The 1000 I don’t know why. Is it more difficult to assess fillies at an early stage of the season?
