There is a very good interview with Ryan Moore here. Its from last year but the most informative one I’ve read.

    http://sport.guardian.co.uk/horseracing … 73,00.html

Any other good interviews with him available on-line?

This lad impresses me more each time I see him in action. A tremendous talent.

Great interview and hes like most of us, just wants to go to work get the job done, get paid, go home, without any crap in between. (Bet he was thrilled when he found out Matt Chapman was going to do a feature on him on ATR).

Good luck to the guy hope he keeps his head and keeps winning.

He cost me a £450 trixe by getting up to beat Frankie (Lucifer Girl) in the 2nd last. For me he’s the best flat jockey by some distance.

Without doubt the best jockey there’s been in a long, long
time. Fallon and Dettori were the best of the current era but
I really think this man is better.

Enhanced by seeing a ride of his on Prevsis for
Cumani in Meydan and yesterdays masterpiece on
    Snow Fairy.

    He really is top notch.

He may be a good jockey but he sure makes Lester Piggott seem the cheeriest man alive by comparison. God, he’s like death warmed up. Mr. Monosyllabic, no personality. It must be like trying to get blood from a stone. For the love of Jesus, cheer up Ryan. :?

When Emma Spencer aked him how good it felt to win the Oaks, he replied glumly, " It’s not a Derby though ! "

Nah Ryan son, just one of the meaningless lesser classics, that’s all.

Emma Spencer didn’t know she was allowed to work for BBC? Didn’t see that, but yeah, he’s like the Ronnie O’Sullivan of horse racing, don’t know
    if it’s shyness or arrogance.

I like him though, my fav’ jockey.

William Buick is better and Moore isn’t as good as Fallon at his best.

He seems a nice enough bloke, maybe just very shy. The only problem is he’s not likely to encourage many new converts to come racing as exuberant he ain’t.
You need someone in your face who will stick in your mind to up the ante a Frankie Dettori or Mattie Batchelor type methinks.

I would agree that the Oaks ride was great, but lets remember that this was Ryans only classic success so far.
I think that he is a talented jockey but merely stands out because the others are distictly average. I say this having started my interest in racing when the crop of jockeys included the likes of Eddery, Piggot, Mercer, Carson ,Starkey etc.
The first 2 of the afore-mentioned stand imo comparison with the all time greats
Fallon is strong in a finish but tactically weak and all too regularly misses the break. Hughes and Spencer make too many errors. As I say imo opinion a distinctly average bunch. This is in contrast with the National Hunt situation which is brimming with talent i.e. Murphy, Walsh, McCoy, Geraghty, Brennan, Johnson, Lee

Yep, another good ride, but in fairness the horses performance was exceptional, and virtually anyone could have won on it.
Still hats off to Ryan, I am sure he will have many more big race successes

Oh without doubt, I like the way he’s come up to the bigtime gradually, I used to live in Brighton where he’s from and often used to follow
his mounts at the track, I could see it then, he had something special, no wonder Stoute got him on board.

    Class act.

I think Ryan is exceptional, he has magic hands, so light a touch and he may be quiet with people but he gets on so well with horses.

He rode a filly for me when he was still a claimer and he was very polite with us, shy as heck, but gave us plenty of information about her.

I think he deserves his success, he works really hard and is hard on himself.

However, I still think Fallon is better, or was better, and no one rides Epsom as well as he does. Shame he messed up his career, for both him, and for us who liked to watch him.

Nice to see Ryan a bit more animated today too!

I think Ryan Moore is an excellent jockey although after reading through a few threads on here today, not as good as Joncol!

In seriousness, on the flat Ryan Moore is probably the only jockey I’d back solely because of his name on the card. To me Fallon & the other top jockeys, as good as they are, I’d still need to be sure of a quality horse.
