Anyone seen these reports that Putin is set to have surgery for Cancer? Only seen headlines from The Mirror and Daily Mail claiming it. yet to see the likes of Sky/BBC mention it…

That is pretty old hat Ben,
    the cancer I mean.
    The operation is new.
    Strange that a country
    repays 650 billion it
    owes in the requested dollars
to a branch of Citibank in
    London days before it launches
    a nuclear strike ?

Ah right, I’d heard rumours but it’s the first time I’d seen it printed in a paper, not that you can really call the Mail a reputable news source lol.

I suspect BBC and Sky have to be much more careful about what they report. Journalists used to verify what they published but it’s seemingly a dying art in the dead tree press.

No words but perhaos some from Putin apologists would be appropriate

I could have done without reading that, Clive.

The human race defies belief at times.

Stories of outstanding courage and aid on one hand and then something like this.

Too true colin. Oh and I didn’t get your mail by the way

And interesting but irrelevant what if

If corbyn had become pm, where would we be now? He would undoubtably refuse military aid to Ukraine and probably humanitarian too. He has already shown he has problems with the Jewish zelensky of course. He’s a committed anti semite and a huge
Admirer of totalitarian regimes that suppress basic human rights

But his main two aides (Seamus Milne and andrew Murray) are vocal supporters of Stalin and russias imperialism in general. Immediately they would be a security risk and frankly from the wests point of view, so would corbyn

    https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/andrew-murray-corbyn_uk_5b9e971ae4b013b0977bc53e

But civilised labour would be incandescent. If anything would have confirmed a total final split, this would have been it surely?

Reading that story Clive, words can’t describe how shocking and while it repulses us reading it, I can imagine those that tried to help or witnessed it will never get over seeing that.

After reading stories like that, and I am sure there are many more to come out how on earth can the Ukranians and Russians ever live peacefully next to each other going forward, even if a halt was called now.

With Putin escalating to ‘achieve his objectives’, and expected ‘announcements’ from him declaring they are in a war for their 9th May celebrations, the war will only encompass a wider area and involve more countries.

I am sure I read the other day we are sending 8,000 soldiers to countries adjacent to Ukraine.

The momentum to see and end to this is all going in the wrong direction.

It seems we don’t quite understand the full extent of the word nature.
There must be in built destructive DNA which throws us into wars to cull our numbers. The planet overall has rarely been at peace. Throw in epidemics and disasters there are a number of ways to kill us.

And as regards for what. We are only custodians on this planet, here for a minuscule of time. What benefits do the living at that time really get after war, they are dead before they can enjoy it, if there’s anything to enjoy.

To the present, still waiting to hear a miracle to stop this.
My one would be the American’s admit the election was stolen and they cheated. Trump is re-instated immediately.
He is probably our planet’s best chance of stopping this. Sounds bizarre but the world was a safer place when he was in office and he kept the aggressors around him in check, you have to give him that.

There is evidence that the small brained have shrinking memories of Trump’s past praise and trust of Putin or his temporary withholding of aid to Ukraine in 2019 or his cosying up to Putin to illicit dirt on Hunter Biden but interestingly President Biden scores less trust in handling the war correctly in polls than Macron or Scholz.

The large brained will be hammering those past hiccups home.

Current betting for the big one in 24…

    Kamala Harris 4/1
    Joe Biden 5/1
    The Donald 8/1
    Dwayne muscles Johnson 33/1
    Ivanka Trump 50/1

Gsp. I can agree with many sentiments but without doubt trump would be just as indifferent/supportive of Putin as corbyn. He’s got the same simple minded insecure regard for dictators (and both him and corbyn are well below average iq)

Gamble. That betting tells us that none of them will be next president. Not a bad thing frankly. Harris is a bit of a disaster and apparently makes hilary Clinton appear warm and loveable. Biden won’t know if the election is going on and will spend his speeches calling out to old school friends whilst farting uncontrollably but it’s gratifying to see trump well out of it in the betting too. More than I would have thought

I’ve just checked oddschecker for their up to date which tells a different story. I agree Clive with possibly none of then – my thoughts were on Antony Blinken but he’s not running apparently Biden will be 81 then but still likely to run most particularly if Trump goes.

    Trump 3/1
    Joe Biden 26/5
    Ron DeSantos 13/2
    Kamala Harris 13/1
    Nick Haley 22/1
    Mike Pence 25/1

    …HIllary Clinton..50/1

That would be quite some miracle. I doubt even Trump himself believes that bollocks any more.
