Gladiateur
On that point, today Chelsea (under sanction due to Russian ownership) play Newcastle United ( no sanctions applied despite owners’ country Saudi Arabia beheading 81 prisoners yesterday and carrying out a sustained bombing campaign in Yemen).
March 13, 2022 at 13:31 #1586848Until the Saudi’s stop being politically strategic allies, that won’t change. I’m no political heavyweight, but I suspect its more to do with that than Newcastle being geographically based in the north of England.

March 13, 2022 at 14:20 #1586859@robnorth- agree completely that the Saudis should never have been allowed to acquire the Barcodes, but the point I am trying to make is a different one.
March 13, 2022 at 14:39 #1586860I did move slightly sideways, but I believe we agree on your point.
March 13, 2022 at 16:00 #1586871Again, apologies if anyone thinks it is in poor taste but I could not help thinking about this sketch from “Not the Nine O’Clock News”:
March 13, 2022 at 16:10 #1586872“I’m pretty shoo-er, he would av shat in his pants!” Hahaha.

March 13, 2022 at 16:50 #1586886The late great Mel Smith (as the late Francis Morrell) “well I’m amazed that were sitting
here talking about a neucleur holocaust, casually discussing the destruction of the whole
planet, and ignoring the major issue. Which is the appauling record of this
Conservative Government. The real tragedy here, is that 3 million people will die unemployed”They did take the mick then, mind you I doubt they saw this coming, but I can’t deny
I had to laugh. What else can you doMarch 13, 2022 at 17:17 #1586892I rather liked this article in “Thoroughbred Daily News”:
March 13, 2022 at 19:44 #1586910Just read that through Cork, some moving thoughts in there. We do have to get on
with it and we do have to get some joy out of life, or what’s the point.March 14, 2022 at 04:11 #1586941Not likeing what looks like a Russia/China pact. China has already commented that
the the UK the US and others giving weapons to the Ukraine army was “adding fuel to
the fire”. It seems now they may acquiesce to Putin’s request for military supplies
and economic aid. The US, according to media reports have stated “The US says China
will face harsh “consequences” if it aids Russia in its invasion of Ukraine, according
to US media reports.”As expected, and confirmed by the UK’s Ministry of Defence, Russia has established
a blockade over Ukraine’s Black Sea Coast, effectively cutting the country off from
international maritime traffic. Both sides have said that further talks will resume on Monday via video links.
I’m not overly hopeful for an agreement to halt the fighting, but hope is all
we have at the moment.March 14, 2022 at 17:13 #1587008Russia involved in peace talks? … what a joke. They don’t know the meaning of the word peace
March 14, 2022 at 21:17 #1587069You have a point Rob.
March 14, 2022 at 21:32 #1587072They NEVER intended to be involved in peace talks. The only thing they’re interested in is gaining more time to bomb Ukraine. This peace talk c**p goes on for about two weeks, but there hasn’t been one single meeting that proved meaningful towards a possible ceasefire. Just ceasefire, forget the word peace.
March 14, 2022 at 21:38 #1587073Putin prodding at the polish border ….he really is testing to see how weak NATO is
March 15, 2022 at 05:27 #1587100We’ll probably never see this brave woman again:
March 15, 2022 at 19:28 #1587367Anyway; glad to see that all the jockeys today were wearing Ukraine armbands.
Bet Vlad won’t sleep tonight.
March 16, 2022 at 18:23 #1587815tbh When there is a military base Russia are entitled to bomb it whether 1000 miles or 10 miles from the Poland border.
