    This grand stalwart collapsed and died today at his beloved Huntingdon. He epitomised the honest, tough chaser and was a credit to the game, and to his connections.

    So sad to hear about him, he was a real old trooper. I.m glad you,ve put this in the memorials on the RF site, because most of the ones posted on here are well known, and the old stalwarts like Runner Bean don’t usually get a mention, well done

    Was doing post-race analysis on this contest when I saw him lurch off to the right after two out and feared he was about to go at any second. I suppose if there is a way to go it ought to be as quick as this, though that won’t cheer up connections any.

    He only once failed to make the frame in ten visits to Huntingdon and could always be relied no to win his race at some point in the season. Sadly missed.
