Yeah – England really outbattled the Ozzies today. Didn’t have a bet before the match but England were 5/4 just before Wilkinson kicked England into the lead and they never went odds-on until Mortlock missed his kick and were still 1.20 with the match going into injury time.
It would be great to see another upset tonight!
Yes, credit to you David, you fancied England for an upset earlier in the week.
France v England semi final, who would have thought that, the Cup is certainly there for the taking now.
Good luck to Scotland tomorrow and let’s hope that SA get turned over

Mike
ps: Kingston, I didn’t see much of the game, only turned it on with 15 minutes to go when we were winning so can’t really tell you the story of how it went.

‘Southern Hemisphere in shock’
“Tears across both sides of the Tasman’
‘National dissapointment’
‘Abject misery’Some of the headlines in Australasia this morning

The sentence including words such as ‘game’ and ‘just’ is springing to mind…

Well done Davidbrady!

Our trainer here Patrick Shaw (u know he’s a South African) will have the best time of his life. He arrives in the UK or France or where ever today and will be joining up with the Kiwis and boy oh boy is he going to give it to them
October 7, 2007 at 19:05 #118385every jock i know hates england winning anything.so, despite the fact that in 82 we were bombing each other to bits, COME ON THE ARGIES!! great for world rugby more than anything too…Their wines are ok too.
October 8, 2007 at 01:06 #118409Oh rats I wanted Scotland to win
October 9, 2007 at 12:35 #118682WD and a nice postition to be in, David. Would you agree, though, that the Pumas with their pedestrian backline havn’t a prayer against the Boks. I’m surprised SA are 1.35 on Betfair. Lightning will hardly strike a third time!
If SA can reproduce their form against England their World Cup favouritism is justified.

I agree that on the performances in the quarter-finals, Argentina look up against it against South Africa. The only try they got was from a blocked kick and they never really threatened the Scottish line all night. Also, Hernadez kicked poorly on the night. They looked exhausted.
On the positive side, being the underdog is no bad thing and South Africa don’t look any great shakes either, having struggled against both Tonga and Fiji.
I would be surprised if South Africa didn’t come out on top though as their pack is every bit as strong as Argentina and they should be able to deny the Argeninian backs the good supply of ball which they have been used to thus far in the competition.
Both semis are shaping up to be cracking games
I’ve laid back my Arentina bet but in a different market. I’ve backed South Africa at 1/3 to reach the final. So its basically cost me 3 points to get my point stake back. And if Argentina win, I reckon they will be approx 2/1 on the night of the final (possibly shorter against England) so I should be able to lay them for 5 points overall rather than the 10 which is available on BF in the outright market at the moment.
