Good job we had McNae and his Race IQ data to tell us that Affordale Fury’s mistake at the last made the difference at Fairyhouse just now.
We’d never have been able to work that one out on our own.
They did such of bad job of capturing the reception Galapin Des Champs got after The Irish Gold Cup,I thought it had been inspired by The BBC after Desert Orchids Gold Cup
In last night’s “Road To Cheltenham”, the new Paddy Power advert half way through the programme was utterly excruciating.
I suppose the “joke” was it was meant to be excruciating. But it didn’t have to be so off the charts excruciating.
Poor Harry Cobden looked like he did not need to feign embarrassment.
I notice that Lir Speciale, the much advertised Racing TV syndicate horse trained by Stuart Williams, has changed ownership and is now in the care of Brian Ellison. The horse is declared to run at Southwell tomorrow.
In 8 starts for the RTV syndicate, the best he managed was a 4th place (in a race with 7 runners).
Somehow I don’t think RTV are going to keep on talking him up as a great prospect…
At least we don’t have to put up with any more of those stupid ads for the horse, with Lydia trying to put on a serious voice.

Perhaps Lydia could now add “The horse rated 93 when we got him but is running tomorrow at Southwell off a mark of 77.”
McNae could then go through the RaceIQ data to explain why the horse has gone backwards.

Lir Speciale ran quite well at Southwell. I think he needs a mile. He could be on a reasonable mark now and I reckon Ellison will get a win or two out of him.
In future when the police are negotiating the safe release of hostages from armed masked men they should play Angus Mcnae’s race data on a loud speaker aimed at the besieged building.
Tell them “if you hand them over this will all go away. We’ve got 3 days worth of this if you want to make it hard on yourselves”
Either that or the hostages will be begging to be shot immediately to end their suffering!
Just received an email from RTV, containing a link to the free Race IQ Festival Pack.
Might download it, to see what it offers; let’s just hope there isn’t a video of McNae waffling on.
Dan Barber and Paige Fuller going on about RaceIQ data and obscure stats. Is RTV trying to make the most boring Cheltenham preview night ever?
I expect Fuller and The Captain will be along later to say an analysis of the RaceIQ data shows the mistake 2 out cost Majborough some ground.

I’ve enjoyed Daryl Jacob’s contributions today and yesterday. Didn’t have him down for TV work when he retired, but he’s been good.
