Really good interview with Willie Mullins on RTV just now; it’s about twenty minutes long, and it should have been much longer.

This is the sort of programming which makes the subscription worthwhile; why they have to ram dross like Race IQ down our throats all the time makes the mind boggle.

I find they always do those kind of interviews where they visit the home of the individual very well – I guess them being in their own home probably means they are that more relaxed and as such they are a bit more forthcoming when answering questions.

I also enjoyed the Racing Greats series that Rishi Persad and Steve Mellish did with the likes of Sir Michael Stoute, Jim Bolger, Steve Cauthen & Ruby Walsh.

I have not watched it yet but it is on RTV’s YouTube channel:

Cancelled my membership this morning.Cancelled my Sky subs last year and have been viewing RTV via my laptop since then as they do not have a channel on Freesat. The experience has not been great. Was offered half price ( £14.99 ) membership for a year.Didn’t take up this kind offer as it was an increase on the £12.49 I’m currently paying.
I know 2 other members who have cancelled recently and will be amazed if they don’t get a raft of cancellations once renewal time means paying £30.

What else are you going to watch on a bleak Monday afternoon in October?

I work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern so get plenty time midweek at home.

Once I’ve been to the gym or for a run/swim or done whatever I need to for the day in the morning having some racing to watch is a nice way to spend a few hours. You never know when you might see one come from a mile back in bad ground at Ludlow that might pay for the subs for the month next time.

That said, I definitely did start having lucky 15’s I wouldn’t normally have had when I first took a sub out.

At the minute I’m on a 50% off deal and have been for 3 or 4 years now. No way would I pay full whack for Anus Mcnae’s race IQ data!

The Club Days are one of the best aspects of the subscription. I have had free days at York and Aintree this month and I am booked for Warwick and Ludlow next month.

I received an email today to say there is a tour of Henry Daly’s stable before the Ludlow day but only for the first 30 to put their names forward. I wouldn’t be able to get there in time but anyone local to Ludlow with an RTV subscription might like to consider it.

Living in West Wales makes the Club Days imposible for me to take advantage of.Would be a fantastic extra if you’re lucky enough to live within striking distance of RTV affiliated courses.
Can still watch all the racing via Betfair TV without the tsunami of clches and verbal mangling the mainly annoying presenters spew out.
The RTV youtube channel offers up whole host of stuff for free so paying to watch live racing alone just doesn’t
    Work for me.

Great. McNae on Breeders Cup duty tonight. 🙄

He’s already quoting Beyer Speed Figures… only because there aren’t any Race IQ ones for Del Mar, I suspect.

Sky Sports Racing is a better option tonight.

Oh god. McNae is banging on about the new Jump Score Index that they’re introducing today.

It’s going to be a long afternoon.

McNae was alright when he was just as a jumper/cardigan presenter and letting the experts give out the tips.

SSR can never be a better option!

It’s literally unwatchable apart from the racing itself.

The amount of adverts needed to sustain it is insane.

There can often be 2 or even 3 of those annoying bookie adverts that last about 15 seconds in the minute before the off.

Getting a great Coolmore promotional video as part of their Japan Cup build-up.

Just received a survey from RTV about RaceIQ data. I ticked the worst option for every question. In the comments box, I suggested that McNae prattling on about this stuff is the worst thing on the channel.

If they used the Race IQ stats correctly, i.e. in race previews, it wouldn’t be so bad.

But having McNae getting overexcited live after every race is really annoying. As you say, CAS, it’s easily the worst thing on the channel.

How many times are they going to show their November review between races? Surely they should be able to find better – and more recent – filler material than this rubbish?
