Yes but if it turns into a serious slog I’d want to be on Pandorama and Weapon’s Amnesty ahead of Henderson’s pair!
Then again, Wierd Al could do them all

Weird Al is defineately my e/w banker of the meeting, Weapons Amnesty is a better Cheltenham proposition than Pandorama,so long as the ground doesn"t get too soft! Punchestowns has never been my idea of an RSA type! Long Run is defineately a 3 miler and is a danger to all imo thm!
February 13, 2010 at 13:41 #276084Diamond Harry? Not the most impressive of preformances. It seemed to me as if he was playing "follow the leader" as Ruby’s mount jumped off to the right. Also he seemed unfomfortable jumping off the slow pace in the middle of the race. Of course he wont have that problem in The RSA.
The steering needs looking at too.I’m really no nearer splitting him and Weird Al though
February 13, 2010 at 13:51 #276090Thought it was a poor ride from choc given what Ruby’s horse was doing all the way round, Harry not impressive and for me not an RSA horse anyway, and neither will worry punchy unless he’s below par, altho Bensalem the one to take out of the race.
February 13, 2010 at 14:02 #276093I’m going for Diamond Harry. Love this horse i think he has got the class to win it. My money is on!

I though that, Timmy switched Harry inside Inchdally before the second fence, it was obvious after the first fence that his jumping would likelt to get more erratic, not better, as he tired
I still think Harry would have won more impessively with a bigger field and a faster pace but I’m starting to slightly favour Weird Al but there’s no more than a fag paper in it, just that Al’s jumping and attitude look bulletproof
February 13, 2010 at 14:20 #276097Easy win for Long Run in the end – the runner-up is a good horse even if his jumping to the right didn’t help the machine.
Take The Breeze well beaten though I think Long Run needs 2m 4f+ these days.
February 13, 2010 at 14:35 #276102Good performance from Long Run 5’s from 6’s for the RSA now.
February 13, 2010 at 20:27 #276340Thought Diamond Harry was pretty unimpressive today. Perhaps they have tried to do too much to soon. Bensalem finished much too close considering the blunders and his tendancy to jump right.
Don’t think the Warwick race told us much about Long Run’s chances in this race. The race fell apart with King Edmund diving out to the right at so many fences. If Long Run has shortened it will surely only be because this race appears the more likely target.
I know he has the the two favourites but given the different ownership bit disappointed Henderson hasn’t confirmed Burton Port as a runner. Despite his size he looks much improved over fences.

Perhaps he’s watched a re-run of Diamond Harry v. Burton Port over the fixed brush hurdles at Haydock?

I don’t think the RSA is run over fixed brush hurdles at Haydock.
As I suggested Burton Port appears to be improving, I wouldn’t be so sure that Diamond Harry is. I would be very surprised if Diamond Harry were able to dish out a similar drubbing at Cheltenham.
February 13, 2010 at 20:55 #276358anyone any info on mikael d haguenet
February 13, 2010 at 21:24 #276371Not a dicky bird about Mikael,i"m afraid i just cant see him running now! As much as i am a fan of Diamond Harry i think he should have been trained for the RSA at the start of the season and not as an afterthought, that will be his downfall at Cheltenham unfortunately! He still looks a Hennessey sort though!
February 13, 2010 at 21:53 #276388On another forum they had been giving Murphy stick about his riding of his this horse and i had defended him but today i’d have to agree. Not quite sure what he was doing at the fences but it wasn’t helping.

The horse (Diamond Harry) is still as green as a pea! When the penny drops he will be a serious beast!
February 13, 2010 at 22:12 #276404After the first couple of fences it was obvious Harry was following Inchindaly Rock to the right. My only critisim of Timmy would be that maybe he should have gone on much earlier especially when they were going so slow on the back straight he was virtually stopping at the fences before jumping.
Trouble with Harry is he’s a thinker and his mind wanders, a bit of a day dreamer I’d say, especially whe he’s out on his own if he’s in front too soon so Timmy’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. Whatever, (as the say today) he’s a superb horsemanA thinking horse is not a bad thing to have in The RSA and they’ll go a better lick than today, I still can’t split him and Weird Al, unless it’s an absolute bog so I don’t need to decide, I’ll just back Pandorama instead
February 13, 2010 at 22:35 #276421Pandorama doesn’t need a bog.
The trouble with Harry is he is no athlete…his length and confirmation are different from every top class chaser in my memory. He has a big engine and doesn’t lack guts but just isn’t made for the chasing game at the very highest level imho.
The RSA could set him back a fair way in my view.February 13, 2010 at 22:41 #276424Thought it was a poor ride from choc given what Ruby’s horse was doing all the way round, Harry not impressive and for me not an RSA horse anyway, and neither will worry punchy unless he’s below par, altho Bensalem the one to take out of the race.
I backed Bensalem for the RSA after going to a visit at Alan King’s yard and hearing him wax lyrical but the horse just isn’t getting his jumping together on the course.
King said after today’s race he wasn’t that keen on meeting Diamond Harry again and Bensalem would get an entry in the William Hill…
