Champ declared for newbury tomorrow
November 6, 2019 at 18:24 #1474233Obviously CHAMP is favourite based on his hurdling form, But I would say BEAKSTOWN will be right with him tomorrow
November 6, 2019 at 20:16 #1474245Beakstown jumped pretty terribly on chase debut and really should’ve beaten sam spinner who also jumped appallingly
If champ is to be a contender for this youd like to think hed win this comfortably
November 7, 2019 at 10:51 #1474271Really looking forwards to seeing champ today. For me he was last seasons best novice hurdler along with klassical dream. I know he got beat at Cheltenham but clearly wanted 3 miles. Was a machine at Aintree.
I think he’s pretty ready for this today having already had a schooling session at Chepstow over the fences.
He’s the most likely winner for this at this stage in my opinion and with a good run today I expect him to be a very strong fav for this. Have had a bit on him for this at 10/1November 7, 2019 at 14:14 #1474287I’d give champ a 7/10 for that performance. Gave Dashel Drasher an easy head start at the start of the race too.
I didn’t like Barry’s ride but you could tell he wanted to nurse him round and almost school
Him today as the first half of the race Barry kept pulling him back to be smart over his fences and put a few slow ones in. When Barry started to ask him for big ones he came up with it which was impressive. Got a little outpaced at one point but class. And through and 2 out he was cruising again. Won convincingly and I think a step up in trip will suit and a more positive ride will help too and will
obviously come on for the run. Not a bad start to his chase careerNovember 7, 2019 at 14:18 #1474288Thought his jumping was pretty average
Quite slow at a few of them
Will need to be much better against good horses
But with geraghty on you dont know if that’s the horse or he was just giving him an educational ride
November 7, 2019 at 23:33 #1474317I thought Champ won well. He was not absolutely foot perfect but his jumping was perfectly safe. Henderson mentioned the Kauto Star. Will be interesting to see how he goes stepped up in distance but going right handed on a sharper track.
November 16, 2019 at 12:50 #1475101I have a bit on Walk Away at 66-1. Chase debut now, think he could be good.
November 16, 2019 at 13:03 #1475106Interesting run from faugheen
I thought he was jumping really well until that one terrible mistake and his fluency/confidence went after that
Wasnt brilliant but not without promise going forward
November 16, 2019 at 14:52 #1475142Walk Away you’ll be absolutely delighted with GAG

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!November 17, 2019 at 05:18 #1475190I’ve lumped on BATTLEOVERDOYEN so many times and will continue to do so. Still over priced at 16s have gone in again. Can’t believe best 365 left him at 20s and only cut him yesterday.
Battleoverdoyen is still the value. Just hope he travels over better this year. Expect him to be 10/1 after today
Champ is class, but just to short for an ante post bet.
November 17, 2019 at 08:59 #1475192If he wins well today prices like that will be long gone , like you I’ve played the big prices over the las 4 months , plus he,s in a number of doubles and accumulators
November 17, 2019 at 16:00 #1475225Can’t have battleoverdoyen. So overrated. Not good enough
November 17, 2019 at 16:47 #1475227I thought Battleoverdoyen won well enough but the race was spoiled by having to miss out six fences. They know low sun can be an issue this time of year. Why can’t they run the feature race earlier?
My concerns are he looked like he was out on his feet after the last. He was also badly affected by the travelling over to Cheltenham last year. Maybe it was a one off but it has to be a bit of a worry.
November 17, 2019 at 17:44 #1475234He looked like that in his reappearance
Hopefully it’s because hes idling
He still looks a big baby with plenty of maturing to do, hopefully elliot can get a couple more runs into him before March as I think he could do with the experience
November 17, 2019 at 19:04 #1475241I disagree he,s overrated , he’s as good as we,ve seen so far , his strength is his jumping , missing g all those fences didn’t help him yet he still won , as for being off his feet he,s bred for the gold cup so doubt there’s a stamina issue
November 17, 2019 at 21:02 #1475250Did it well today without blowing me away. Whether in the overrated camp or not, he’s beaten a good yardstick 150 horse in Any Second Now with relative ease. Fewer fences weren’t in his favour nor was ASN jumping across him. Job done, more experience gained, another win and I think he’ll improve with every run. Reminds me a bit like Don Poli
