Pace of the race, touch too free and a last fence blunder. Without just one of those happening Minella Indo would’ve won.
Value Is EverythingIf ever a horse was well named it is this one. AP would have been proud of that finish, shades of Wichita Lineman!

Champ needs better ground. I reckon he would have won easily if the ground had been less testing. He was far better than Minella Indo and Alloha over hurdles.
ITV v poor; had given up, when he just appeared in the picture in the last few strides. Serious engine, but jumping is too sluggish to be a serious GC contender. But if Nick can improve his jumping…….

Today CHAMP was best horse but feel if Minella Indo jump the last better would of held on.I not trust his jumping in GC and rather be on Minella Indo out of 2 of them as expect him jump much better
I still think Champ would have won Darren- he was closing so fast- but agree with you about the jumping in the white heat of a Gold Cup. Nobody like HdB to get horses jumping well (Put The Kettle on might not have the biggest engine but she jumped like a dream in a beautiful rhythm yesterday).
Felt minella indo and allaho got racing a very long way out
Because of that they were barely moving crossing the line and champ was able to pick up the pieces despite jumping terribly

I just want to see topofthegame again personally, he is such a huge horse if he can fill out that frame he could be very very good
What a race. Champ was jumping very poorly, especially along the back. Can’t believe he still won. Surely if he can improve his jumping he must have a big chance in the Gold Cup next year.

On the run in Rachel blackmore let minella indo drift away from allaho, he seemed to start to idle (allaho went back in front) then when champ came through the middle of them he started staying on again
If she had kept him next to allaho I think minella indo wouldve won
